Just got some free units after running 2 tutorial matches with someone at my FLGS.
So now I'm wondering if there's a good place for tactica or general discussion because I really liked playing.
Definitely interested in some tips and tricks for for the Southern side. Right now I have 5x Jager 1x Black Mamba 2x Basilisk (plan on running as jager proxies) Should I get my hands on a Spitting Cobra and some recon gears ASAP? Are tanks worthwhile for the South? I like the -goth body style and look of the Ballista.

40k by it's very theme is nothing but wrong. All of it. The rules are wrong. The setting is wrong. And the fanboys are extra wrong. So by extension all the characters are wrong, too.

Seriously, from an in character perspective, rule of paladin trumps most other concerns. Even if I didn't play paladins, I just don't think I could honestly play the kind of character that'd chose money over a life.
And to add to that last point, treasure isn't really worth much. I know it has a worth, but it's fairly easy to get more. I don't care about having a large amount of it, since there's rarely anything I want or even need to buy.

It's a human only setting, but it ends up more varied than you think. It's a far future sci-fi where pure humans consider themselves the only true descendants of humanity, a culture of genetic augmentation consider themselves the perfection of humanity, and a chaotic utopia of disembodied minds, some of which were human once, no longer really sees any point in 'Human'.
An adventuring party that looks like a fucking circus act has long ago grown tiresome. Any game I run now forces the players to be actually creative in making unique members of the same race they can identify properly with, instead of falling back on the crutch of inherently different heights, ages, appearances, etc.
Anything that's not human, they get the fuck away from quick.
