How dangerous would a BBEG human fighter with an aura of "realism and historical accuracy" be in a D&D game?
The aura is a mile wide. It acts as a dead magic zone, because magic is not realistic.
The aura deletes from existence any object that did not existence in the "medieval" time period that D&D purports to be set in: no plate armor, no rapiers.
All fantasy armor and fantasy weapons become useless hunks of metal that merely encumber the user while in the aura. Anyone trying to operate a weapon (or even throw a punch) in the aura MUST do so in a realistic and historically accurate way, with a proper description from the player or the GM, or else it becomes ineffectual.
All fantastical creatures lose their fantastical qualities. Elves drop dead and die, because humanoids living for a long time is unrealistic. Giants and dragons collapse on their own weight, realistically.
Could your D&D party even hope to stop this BBEG?
If you don't want to play in a fantasy game, you could just say so instead of contriving a way to kill your D&D game.

Bow. Arrow. True Strike.
Fire from outside zone. McRealism Man is struck; wound becomes infected. With no access to Cure Disease, he dies.
If you stab him once with a rusty knife does he get gangrene and die, realistically?
>Reversible armour
Can it be done?

I don't understand what you're asking. Like, armor that can be worn inside-out as well an normally?
Why?
Does it try to kill you instead of protecting you?
Welcome to New Teen Titans Quest!
This is an authorized continuation of Humble Storyteller's wonderful Teen Titans Quest that sadly Humble isn't able to continue, and hasn't been updated in 18 months. (If you're reading this Humble, I wasn't using this name in the afterparty when you authorized it, to avoid confusion)
For those not familiar and would like to read Humble's quest, it's all here in the pastebin: http://pastebin.com/cEFrBd9d
Please note that New Teen Titans Quest ignores everything that happened after Gotham city (Act 5).
The rules are the same as the previous incarnation: One vote per post, maximum of 11 votes per choice.
Let's all have fun waifu-fagging and arguing about walkfags and sitfags!
You are a young man in his late teens. You’ve been away from home for a long time, and your appearance shows it. The rucksack over your shoulder is dirty and worn, your black T-shirt bearing the white eye of Horus has several stains and knees of your jeans are torn open.
You are standing in front of Titan’s Tower, it’s well past midnight.
It’s been a long, lonely 18 months since you’ve last stepped foot inside, or seen your former team mates: the Teen Titans. After a particularly painful failure on your part that cost too many people their lives, you made the decision to leave the team and travel the world in an attempt to learn more about yourself, despite the Titans’ protests.
After failing to discover anything new about yourself, you decided it was time to come back to the only place you’ve ever called home.
You feel both a tingling excitement and a deep nervousness at the prospect of reuniting with the Titans again.
A. Walk on in and crash, you’re tired and your bed is calling to you.
B. Someone might be awake, check around inside to see if there’s someone to greet you.
C. Stay outside for a while longer to gather your thoughts, it's a beautiful night outside after all.

We survived the campaine boss last night with only one (our rouge) standing at one HP.
The flipped the fuck out after it was over and we somehow pulled through. Luckily, we don't have to ressurect anyone... but we are now officially out of health potions and healing spells... and days away from the next tavern
It's a strange sensation, dreaming while passed out. It's more like a hallucination than anything else, your mind drifting uncontrollably, and it's rather jarring having Angie there, keeping part of you conscious to converse with you. It's hard to tell what shapes or images are around you, but Angie moves through the jumbled imaginings like a fish through water.
“Looks like you got pretty messed up in the head. You're out cold. Nearly dead, actually, but you're recovering. Someone is taking very good care of you.”
You don't have to look to know the shadowy manifestation of your sense of fear is forming behind you. Well, it's proof that you're still human at least, that you still have a primal fear of death. Angie either doesn't see it or doesn't care, moving closer and examining you. You hold still, trying to adjust to the sensations around you, but the more you try to adapt the less control you seem to have, so you relax and hold still for Angie.
“Yep, that'd do it. You didn't get a channel cut for your power to flow through. That devil carved a valley. They didn't leave much of a signature, I don't recognize the name, but I think they're expecting a call back later for being so... helpful. You're gonna have some fun...”
Angie shrugs a bit and yawns softly. You try to form a response, but your head is fuzzy and the words just won't come. You can only manage a nod and a muttered agreement.
“It's probably a test, which is weird. I think your little speech about ambition made them want to see what your limit was. And since you're going to live, you passed. Normal devils of that rank don't do stuff like that, they take a shotgun approach. I guess this Tellarie is a bit more choosy. I'll see if I can get some information on them for next time.”
She pats you on the head with a smile when you nod again.
“Aww, you can't even speak. Has my beauty stolen all your words away? Or are you just concussed from passing out and hitting your head on a rock? Probably the second one. Well, I'll leave you to it. Have fun with your nightmare monster thing.”
Angie vanishes and the world around you loses all cohesion. You fall into darkness, your fear creeping at your back, and drift.
-
New stat acquired: Spirit. Spirit is your magic stat. When activating or controlling spells, this is the stat you'll be using. Due to a mix of a sheer dumb luck and your choice in how to speak with Tellarie, your starting Spirit is 2.
-
You awaken slowly. You're warm, which is nice. Warm is better than cold. The smells are familiar, but you can't quite place them. You can see a purple blur, a curtain perhaps, and sunlight beyond it. Someone is touching your hair, stroking idly, and you lean into the touch slightly. It feels nice, and the sensation helps you to focus your mind on something as you claw your way through the haze and into wakefulness.
“Good morning.”
You yawn softly and pause, opening your eyes fully. Jennifer is sitting on a chair next to you, reading a book and petting your hair softly. She glances at you, her expression neutral, and goes back to her reading. You look around for a moment to take stock of the situation. You're in Sammy's bed, there's a bandage around your head and another around your hand, and you're naked under the sheets. Jennifer, on the other hand, is wearing a black silk robe of some sort, tied at the waist, but with her body turned slightly away from you you can't tell what else she's got on. Your eyes fall on the book she's flipping through. It's your hemomancy tome.
Fuck.

>Rules
Same system as Become The Dragon Quest. If you don't know what that is, it's best of three d20 rolls. I name a stat that sums up what you're trying to do, and if I don't name a relevant skill, you try to fill in the blank based on what you're trying to accomplish. “Break open the door” might be Strength based, but if you've been playing baseball after school and there's a lead pipe nearby, you could apply your Baseball skill to the roll. A 20 on the die is a crit threat, and if either of the other two rolls is 20 or higher after mods, it's a critical. A crit fail is when you have two or more 1s. So far this system has worked out well enough. We'll get into combat rules as needed, but in basic terms you have wounds, not HP, and the worse the wounds, the more penalties you accrue while doing other things.
Most Important Rule:
Have fun.
>Good morning, Jennifer. How are you today?
>Whatcha reading there?
>Why am I naked, and where are my clothes?
>Where's Sammy?
>What happened?
>Other (write-in)

Are there any tabletop rpgs that are specifically designed for playing games like Castlevania or Ravenloft. Ravenloft is close to what I'm looking for, but I'm not a fan that it comes attached to the D&D system.
>but I'm not a fan that it comes attached to the D&D system.
I'm sorry, but the only system that I could recommend for someone as gay as you is GURPS, and that's a horrible system that I wouldn't want to inflict on my worst enemy.

Alright.
Just ask if you need something or offer if you have something to share.
I'll start by sharing this. I promised this to /tg/ a month back or so: Dominion Tank Police The RPG
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/02bj1kov2x5d9
It is probably a pretty bad scan but it was the best I could do since it was the first time using the damn scanner. The chapter covers all got screwed up for some reason but I guess it is readable and does it's job. A better scan might follow sometime, this should do the job however.
aww shieeet, thanks for delivery anon
fucking loved the tank police animu back in the 90's, I should rewatch it later tonite
>>44061463
I should also apologize for the huge filesize. 120MB is a little big for 167 pages... the scanner gives no option with what quality you want to scan
>>44061519
Now, somebody got to deliver the Demon City Shinjuku RPG. Same company, same system. The anime was pretty shit if you compare it to the awsomeness that is Tank Police but the internet needs this fucking game for completion sake. I mean, we have a fucking filthy frank homebrew but no scan of an official Demon City Shinjuku RPG? What the shit
Alright Anons, fill in the blank!

It takes a while to separate the majority of your plant body from the massive corpse, you leave just enough active through the portals to finish your exploration and looting with Xmar, maybe you’ll get lucky and find something more interesting. The hordes of undead and trillions of skeletons ready for reanimation, your consider reanimating them but your mind is being pulled in so many directions you’re a bit busy for the moment, you teleport someplace else. You consider turning them into a mass of symbiotic fighters for the world eater but it’s probably better to ask if the world eater would even tolerate that.
Massive quantities of Lazarus serum pours forth and using your biokinetic powers the life of the massive world eater is slowly but surely restored. Even with focusing your realm’s power into regenerating the world eater you feel that it will take several more days to get any progress done on its resurrection and potentially even more if you continue to split your focus so much. You assume it will be worth the effort however since the world eater is an ancient and powerful thing.
Izulu relaxes her hold on you, as you fall together only the slight hold from friction keeps the pair of you intertwined. The ground closer and closer to you, it feels so incredibly strange to watch yourself falling from a nigh omniscient view of the world around you. Your plant body covering the ground enables you to see yourself plummeting through the air, it feels almost like you are Hestia, seeing everything like this.
(1/6)
The peaceful serenity of the death defying mating dive is broken by your collision with the ground – neither you nor Izulu gave up and together you slam into your roots, vines and leaves. The impact snaps Izulu back to conscious thought, and she morphs back to human form. The surprised bird smiles and embraces you, you catch a glimmer of happiness and pride as she tucks a feather into your plant based clothing. She then goes in for a rather clumsy kiss, you feel in her mind the times she’s watched and she tries to replicate what she saw with a bit of desperate vigor.
“Now as the others - we are one,” Izulu says after breaking free. Her face flushed with desire, you can see that she wants more.
“Why are you smiling master?”Ayla asks, “We are totally lost there isn’t even a path through the forest.”
Ayla complains after trudging miles through the forests of Alfheim, this is after telling her several times that there is nothing to be worried about. The scattered enchantments you’ve discovered designed to keep people lost, and in a few cases be returned to their plane of origin are easily avoided since the very trees that hold the enchantments guide your way. Ayla knows that you are a plant now and has even tried channeling your power to speak with the plants herself, but she doesn’t get the same loving adoration that you get when speaking with them. You feel that the plants don’t like her impulsiveness, even those willing to speak to her are turned off since she doesn’t even wait a few minutes for them together their thoughts and speak back.
As for the coordinates, you have absolutely no idea. The invitation has them but nothing else to reference how to orient yourself in order to use them. Even if Hestia creates a map of this entire plane the coordinates are worthless, not that you should have expected more from a trickster. Instead you are headed to the nearest gathering of people, hopeful they are friendly.
(2/6)
Hestia you notice has finished her construction project, only to begin two more. She is keeping tabs on your progress in the new plane and is filtering through myth and legend to try and find any information of use. At the time of her compiling her reports however nothing new has been discovered.
Completed Research
>Shield modification – A simple modification of a force field’s power source enables it to drain whoever it is protecting. Draining the health and mana of anyone can be dangerous and doesn’t increase the shield’s protection however. Hestia indicates that the lower power consumption makes these shields good for stealth since there is next to no energy signature.
>Psionic sensors – Knowing already how to jam psychic abilities has made it a simple feat to create a sensor modification that enables tracking of any psychic power use, psionicly gifted individuals, and even pick up individuals that have high psionic potential but have yet to awaken it. The internals have already been ousted by the jammers and thus no new individuals have been located.
>Psionic amplifier – The amplification comes in two packages, the first Hestia can construct chambers that vastly improve psychic powers in a similar fashion to magical empowerment. The second is a minor application that the researchers come up with, an amplification implant. The implant only increases psionic output by about 10% - far less than Hestia’s chambers, but the implant has the advantage of being mobile. Further refinement may increase its potential while remaining non-harmful to the implantee.
(3/6)
>Neural control override – The researchers had no desire for aesthetics when creating this thing. This sickly green worm appears to be a heavily modified barbed version of the mutation suppressor. They indicate that the pain is severe when the creature imbeds itself into the flesh, but it excretes an unusual substance that reinforces neurons and the nervous system as a whole. This parasite is somehow able to differentiate between its host’s normal neural patterns and forcibly changed patterns. It is able to prevent neural compulsion by destroying the previously created neural control parasites, there has also been limited success in this parasite from blocking psionic compulsion.
Ongoing research – Hestia’s research is currently suspended

>Final reconstruction - Hestia is loathe to leave a job half done, so she is finishing up rebuilding the city above to her standards. The richest folks dislike the obviously superior outcome due to the now free handouts and freedom of the ‘lessers’ to be allowed to go wherever they want within the city. Due to their tireless work Both the casino gang and the goblins are becoming respected members of the community.

Ask and you shall receive.
If you've got a house rule (1e, 2e, or even oWoD) feel free to share it. What do you do in your games to make things run smoother? Does anyone want to stat up some NPCs? Maybe some monsters? Do you have any homebrews to share? If anyone has advice on making a Chummer style sheet generator, that'd be super helpful.

Currently I've written out a bunch of ideas for Manifestations and "Unlocks". I'm going to go through soon and redraft them. I'm also going to add a sort of half-sin-eater template, basically someone who's got no Psyche but still has some Sin-eater template traits, based on the way that you were ostensibly supposed to be already a Medium before you got The Bargain (though one of the writers seems to have changed that in errata and on the forums). To avoid just calling it "Mediums", I'm going to go with the term Greywalker, from Kat Richardson's novels, and the series I'm currently reading. This is not-for-profit, so I can get away with that.

Behold, a Spirit of Social Media!
>How do new Werewolves choose their Tribe? In fact, how do Tribes work in the whole Pack structure?
Werewolves choose their tribe by showing an interest in its philosophy and proving themselves to its totem enough for that Firstborn to welcome them into its fold. Or they're brought up by members of a tribe. Or the Firstborn comes to them (which happens to a lot of Cahalith and Bone Shadows).
>How do Tribes work in the whole Pack structure
Well, they're not really formal organizations, so there's also not really conflict between Forsaken Tribes as such, usually. Your Tribe is a set of beliefs and priorities that you share with other members of your tribe, and you're a follower of a minor god who also considers itself your spiritual cousin. Tribes work together quite well in a pack, and tend to defer to the packmate whose tribe specializes in whatever the current issue is. A problem being caused by humans would be handled by the Iron Master in the pack. When your pack is on a war footing, or is preparing for combat, you turn to the Blood Talon. Got somebody you need to chase down into the dark places and never, ever let up until they're dead? Turn to the Hunter in Darkness.
2e adds Favored Prey, which leads even further to the "a member of this tribe specializes in this particular field" thing.
Don't get too confused by the Favored Prey thing, though. All werewolves hunt all kinds of prey. Whatever threatens the territory is dealt with by the pack as a whole.

I'm sorry for starting late today. Captcha was being super glitchy and was being a total pain in the arse. Hopefully it will be solved by now.
Also sorry for leaving so soon the last thread. I was somewhat ill and tired from class and the combo of those two totally drained my motivations to run for that day.
You were confused, wounded, tired and furious…but it was all worth it, was it?
Your descent towards the guts of the undercity gave you nothing but more questions. You had been the objective of a botched assassination attempt by a group of miners that was lead by Petra, a teenager psyker that apparently could glimpse the future in her dreams. This was the second time a seer told you that you were the cause of a future catastrophe of apocalyptic proportions. In both times the ones that saw that apparently unavoidable future tried to kill you in a desperate attempt to avert that destiny.
What were you? Were you special? Why? You didn’t wanted to be different, all you wanted now was to kill the two bastards that turned you into a monster, meet once more with Liwet and take care of your daughter Alaria. It was time to get answers; it was time to end all this nonsense for once.
After returning towards the academy you saw the entire building covered in debris and bullet holes. Even if the Nox Vox tried to kill you your hatred towards the Magii Coven made you wish that they had made more damage and killed more members.
>>44059958
“We have managed to kill most of the attackers, their leader has run away. They won’t bother us again.” You told to the eccentric Magus that was waiting for you.
That was surely a lie as the possibilities of them attacking again were incredibly high. You knew that, and without a doubt many others did too. It didn’t matter much that people were able to see thru your false words or not, all you cared about was discovering the truth.
“So, when I am going to meet the Benefactors? I am pretty excited about it.”
“It will be soon; very soon. Tomorrow possibly, let us prepare the ground first, such high meeting needs the necessary rituals to do so. Our main Benefactor is also wishing to finally meet you.”
Those words reverberated on your ears as they were pronounced. A cold chill crossed your metallic spine. You were so close to your objective that what once was impatience now had mutated into utter fear. With a simple reverence you left him to work on his chores; you too had things to do.
>Rest for the day. You need to be completely fresh for tomorrow’s meeting.
