So I'm creating a sort of system of warnings for a game I'm playing. Sort of like pic related but more expansive, designed to incorporate non-standard threats.
For instance, Call of Cthulu would contain not just your standard threads of crushing, impalement, and traumatic amputation, but also more existential threats, such as infection, contamination, mind control and insanity.

Could /tg/ help refine a campaign premise?
There are two realities, each as real as one another: our Earth in the year 202X, and a sprawling panoply of fantastical planes full of magical creatures and impossible vistas.
Here is the twist: the sentient creatures of both realities share souls, subconscious minds, and fates.
One rich businessman in Earth might share an essence with an archangel in a golden fortress in the fantasy planes, while another rich businessman in Earth could share an essence with an elven beggar in the fantasy planes.

The PCs go on adventures that let them instigate changes in one reality to ripple over to the other.
Maybe in the fantasy realm, a raging great wyrm red dragon is terrorizing the countryside in a fit of grief. This is too strong for the PCs to overcome in the fantasy world, so they find a way to get close to the dragon and discern the dragon's identity in Earth as a high school girl angry and depressed over a breakup. They can help that girl overcome her negative emotions, and the dragon in the fantasy world calms down.
Or perhaps in Earth, the PCs want to...

There are a few problems I see here though:
1. It is going to get very complicated if both worlds are equally real, and what happens in one reciprocates in the other. Would this not mean that nothing anyone does ever matters, because everything is simply a chain reaction of ripples and reciprocations guided by each reality's fate? Even adventures and interactions with/against other "single-minded" would logically be completely irrelevant in the grand scheme due to both realities' essences echoing against one another.

One solution to #3 I can think of myself is that the PCs do not shift their consciousness from one reality to another at-will. It is not under their control.
Instead, the Earth-reality "runs" for 24 hours before going into a timeless stasis for another 24 hours. During that time, the fantasy-reality "runs" for 24 hours before going into a stasis for 24 hours, which is when Earth starts to "run" again.
The PCs, then, would experience life as alternating between these two realities every 24 hours, like so: Monday in Earth -> Monday...

I'm building up categories for my weapon system, and i wanted to ask you about the bastard sword*
I just wanted to know, is the way it's wielded more akin to a 2h sword, or a 1h sword?
*i know there is no such thing as a bastard sword historically, but let's say that for the purpose of this thread i mean Aragorn's sword, or Geralt's sword, as opposed to a sword that has not enough space on the hilt for both hands.
TL;DR: the way of fighting with a bastard sword is more like fighting with a 2h sword or a 1h sword?

The 'bastard sword' as you call it has most in common with the German Longsword. What D&D calls a 'longsword' is more akin to an arming sword. Anyways to answer your question a 'bastard sword' would be used best as a two handed weapon to give you the most striking power and more importantly the most control and leverage of the blade.

Is there a way to include both firearms (even relatively low tech firearms, but at the very least bolt-action rifles) and melee weapons in a setting, and still have it be a somewhat serious setting?
Because for example 40K has no reason to have chainswords, power weapons and whatever, but still does, and for some people it's a little bit stupid, or fucks with their suspension of disbelief or whatever.

Rolled sense motive so badly I started suspecting a rival but well-meaning group of adventurers in wanting to destroy a pacifist monastery for no reason. Ended up derailing several sessions in minor ways by convincing the party of my suspicions and making them antagonize the rivals and repeatedly cock block them until the miscommunication was settled, though we needed their help to advance.
