“You have sought me out to unlock some crucial part of your memory, the cards you see before you are all made of snippets of your life. With any luck we may uncover why you came here, and afterwards I shall speed you along your path. But be wary, I do not grant this favor to any who ask. Many of the cards I have fashioned are challenges as well.”
To the well-equipped traveler you say: “Mother-Bear welcome you stranger, I don’t see many folks up in the Blackpine, where might a well armed traveler fella like yourself be headed to?” He addresses you back, “Heya, m’names Franz. It’s a long story, and most of the story doesn’t belong to me. Anyway, you ever heard o’ the Lord o’ Fall?”
You know that the Lord of Autumn is ruler over the elves who live in the Unbroken Woods. It’s a week or two away from here.
You’ve only heard stories of his cruelty, and you know from fellow woodsmen that his elves aren’t too keen on human settlers getting closer and closer to their forests.

Your name is Denny Bautista. You recently just banished Koin Yamada from the city. You could say you did a real good job. A reeeeaal buckwild! job! You deserve a reward. A pat on the back.

You look through a doujinshi you purchased at a local anime convention. Love truly is a beautiful thing! Maybe one day you can find love like this!
Hear ye, hear ye. I hereby call to order this meeting of the most illustrious Mages Guild! As some of you might know the Necromancers decided to declare war on the vampire kingdom of Tenebrus for some reason, I assume its some dispute about what's the superior undead or something. Anyway it seems that we have gotten complaints from the local vampire hunters that we are putting them out of a job and they are demanding that the guild compensates them for this. Now normally I'd just ignore them, or fireballs, but they've been protesting outside my office, and I hate the smell of roasted garlic, so you'll just have you come up with a way to get rid of them without using excessive fire.Welcome to the Mages' Guild. Pick a name and join in! Conflicts are resolved with d20s when needed, or with playing it out. When the thread dies on /tg/, we keep it going on archive.4plebs For additional resources, please visit http://1d4chan.org/wiki/Mage%27s_guild

Have you considered freezing them? Also, here is your coffee sir
>>44117251
Deeeaaaaaath?
Excuse me, we invaded because we needed corpses and we didn't think anyone would care about us attacking a kingdom of vampires.
It was Lazarus's idea?
Age: 735
Location: Planet Geltrix
Information: Upon resolving the situation with the New Heran Empire, Daikon and his fellow Saiyans received reports of invaders ravaging worlds within their empire. Ordering an ambush to be set up on Planet Geltrix, the Saiyans arrived to find most of their forces slaughtered by members of the Frieza Force. Joining the battle, the Saiyans easily defeated the enemy soldiers, and the battle came to an end when Daikon, Bardock, and Azu defeated one of Frieza's top men. Now, after a long period of near-constant fighting, Daikon and the other Saiyans rest and plan their next move.
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.
Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.
Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)
During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.
If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).
If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.
If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution
You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You are an average fighter for now, but have the potential of one of the greatest warrior races to roam the universe flowing through your veins. There is no limit to what you can accomplish through blood, sweat, and tears.

Power Levels (as of the start of this thread)
http://pastebin.com/JvPqwvaU
"So, that was one of Frieza's elites," Bardock muses, looking at the scorched ground where your enemy once stood. "Not very impressive."
"There were three of you," Rugula reminds him. "If you fought him alone, you'd probably be thinking differently."
Bardock chuckles. "Maybe. But, if three of us can defeat an elite that easily, it won't be long before we can beat Frieza."
"On a full moon, we could probably kill him already," Rugula suggests. "All of us with our powers increased tenfold would be pretty much unstoppable."
"Maybe you're right," Bardock admits. "We could go back to Vegeta right now, lure Frieza there on a full moon."
>A. Ask what would stop him from just destroying the planet
>B. You agree, with all of you and the Saiyans on Planet Vegeta working together, Frieza wouldn't have a chance
>C. You're close, but you want to be a little stronger, first
>D. Something else

>>44116784
But you're fine with him having a 1/20 chance of hitting in the first place?
>>44116743
Confirming criticals are designed to protect players from creatures generally, not the other way around as most people think.
At high levels most characters have means to force criticals to not confirm, at least in 3.5, 3.PF, and 3e.
I'm trying to get my normie pathfinder friends to play legends of the five rings.
Would describe it as 'think game of thrones in far east' be a good way to entice them or just doing the game a massive disservice?
Just run it like Samurai Champloo.
>>44117101
That's completely at odds with the tone of the games assumptions but I like it!
How hard would it be to do both? court intriguing than just threw ninjas at the party when they get bored?
>>44117217
I don't know. I never played L5R, but Samurai Champloo was one of the only anime series I could get into.
Quick TG! I'm retarded and I don't know how the rolling system in shadowrun works! The books don't explain it well enough for my dipshit mind to comprehend it!
Dice pools.
Roll as many d6es as your dice pool says to. If it's a 5 or a 6, it's a hit.
Someone else can remind me of the glitch rules, but that's the basics.
Basically just throw like 20+ dice on the table, pretend to look at them, and then say "I did it!"
That got me through four editions of the game.
>>44116641
Well yeah but aren't the dice pools a combo of an attribute, a skill, and then a limit set my either physical mental or social?
What you playing tonight?
I'm heading to Modern on a whim for the first time in like 8 months. Threw together this monowhite hatebears thing because I figured it would be reliable and easy to play for my rusty self.
How screwed am I? Medium-tier FNM with about 40 playing Modern.
Draftin as usual. I'll post pool if i remember
>>44116398
you know if you played thalia & friends you'd be D&T
just throwing that out there.
I played 4c Landfall. only 16 people showed tonight, so we did 3 rounds. i went 1-2.
1-2 BW Control. Comboed out game 1 and lost to Archangel of Tithes, Gideon, Sorin, Secure the Wates in 2 and 3.
2-0 Megamorph-Cards-I-Own. turn4 combo kills.
1-2 Atarka Red. this is the most interactive match in the current format. i rarely have this much fun playing non-legacy formats and is one of the very few matches i actually enjoy playing on the backfoot.
Op is 0-1 on the night. My offbrand version of D&T lost to the real Aether Vial version.

This idiot has wasted enough of your time, caused enough grief.
Charging into the Ice Authority's capital building, you don't expect to leave without Lupus defeated, however that might need to be.
Leigh is equally pumped and prepared for this to end. Ideally, you'll make Ymira answer to some things as well by the end of this.
In order to prevent Lupus' escape, you're splitting into a few groups, at princess Shea's behest: Shea, Yvette, and Jolie is one. Then there's Une, Ansi, and that Kay girl Une's roped into helping out, and finally, yourself, Asra, and Leigh.
Ansi also summons up some additional help for the various groups. Naturally, Shea's group gets the most monsters, but you manage to get a powerful-looking cyclops out of the ordeal.
Tackling the basement level of the capital building, you, Leigh, Asra, and the lumbering summoned creature travel with the grace and subtlety of a bag of rocks.
"This is... Inhibiting my style," Asra says after you've cleared out a roomful of bonewalkers, "perhaps I should head further in on my own, provide eyes and aid in my... Stealthier fashion."
>A. Stealth's out the window already
>B. Too dangerous
>C. Let her try anyway
>D. Encourage her
>E. Write-in

>>44116127
>C. Let her try anyway
>>44116169
"Go for it," you say, "we'll be sure to keep lumbering like idiots."
Asra nods. "We will. Not be far."
After that, she shows herself away. You give Leigh a look, noticing her trying to one-up the Cyclops. "Yeah, I could take you, buddy."
The cyclops, being a construct of Ansi's summoning, says nothing, instead opting to saunter into a hallway (Asra headed down a different, less crowded-looking hall that connects about midway through with that one), axe gripped tightly.
"Oh, just ignore me." Noticing your look, Leigh simply and defensively asks, "what?"
"Nothing, nothing. Come on, let's follow him."
The hall is swarmed with skeletal warriors, at least a dozen, maybe more, and more are DEFINITELY pouring in through a single room a bit down the hall. You're certain that's where the Necromancer creating these things is.
There are other doorways along the hall ominously ajar, but you cannot see inside their rooms from here.
Unless you ask it to do otherwise, the cyclops will probably just continue its advance.
>A. Stay behind it and watch for potential flanking.
>B. All three of you charge!
>C. All three of you stay, let them come to you
>D. Write-in response
>E. Try to follow the other hallway, leaving Leigh and the cyclops to handle this one.
Guys This is for planning future games/ Out of game planning and trades deals and also for what you guys think and advice
Next game is Monday the 14th at 11 am EST

>>44115707
Yes that sounds like a good Idea, and I'll post regularly in this on my phone at my overnight job
>Anything you can do, I can do better.
I've run into a bit of a dead-end problem regarding a player who is a sapient, free-willed construct. They're all but indestructible.
Most forms of elemental magic do jack shit, and physical attacks are just liable to chip at them at worst. They -can- be damaged, but it takes some serious firepower to do it- either huge fall damage, a very powerful caster, or some monstrously huge beasty that chews boulders for breakfast.
The other characters involved are regular Joe Schmoes, so if I conjured up the kind of world-splitting mega-wizards needed to crack that egg, the others would be incinerated in an instant if they paid attention to the squishies in the group.
What sorts of threats can I conjure up that are actually threatening to said construct, short of tossing them in the large body of water or pulling out the magic "Would You Kindly" remote control? Them having their free will and not being chained to some megalomaniac caster is kinda important to how their story has developed thus far.
>>44115618
Why did you let them play something so OP to begin with without giving the other players some things to compensate?
>>44115618
Oh, forgot to note that I'm also reluctant to blast them to smithereens at any given moment because the possibility for proper repair is rare at best- they're from a lost age and there's only really one place they can get a tune-up.
I want the danger to be there without just going "yeah you've been chipped to death over the course of several adventures".
>>44115618
anti-cyborg martial arts using oscillatory waves to destroy hardened objects
Stone Dragon manuevers (Mountain hammer and the like)
Basically, I just got done reading battle angel alita last order, and you should read that.
Tell us the best ways you derailed an adventure /tg/
Depends on the adventure. Each situation presents unique opportunities for derails.
>>44115599
OP is asking how you have derailed one, not how you can derail one.
As a DM, I made the mistake of giving my players a sneak peak of their reward at the end of the current campaign.
So then they naturally spent the next few sessions doing their absolute best to get it without going through the current campaign.
They succeeded.
what is a realistic number of marines/squads that can go traitor reasonably in the famous and more known founding chapters (i want to paint a newly traitorous squad or two using loyalist bits)
plz respond
A squad going rogue is a huge stain on a chapter's reputation. If more than a few marines fall, usually its because someone high up in the chapter forced the rest into it (soul drinkers).
but well-known traitors? I don't see more than a handful at a time going traitor, if at all. I've always thought a chaos army of traitors from 20+ chapters would look cool
>>44115922
so i have to play it as old chaos marines pillaging dead loyalist armour? baka
Previously, you spent a lot of time brewing before creating an abomination.

You sit in your hut surveying your creation. Hiss had left to get some sleep, leaving only a kiss and a sharp reminder to make more Serpentbanes and you had quickly hustled Eva II inside before anyone could see. She’d (It?) followed you wordlessly and without trouble.
Outside your window, the night is dark and the moon is waning.
Eva II sits on the floor, having stolen a living corpse for its host. But already the young woman seems to be changing, her skin a far paler shade than it has any right to be. You can see through it, spying individual veins and sheaths of muscle. She stares at you, her eyes perfect circles with black sclera and nothing else.Who are you?
Zigzag snores in the corner, drugged and oblivious to what is going on. You’ve claimed her as your assistant but so far she’s only been good for reagents and eating your creations while you slept. She’s absolutely filthy.

Giving up the Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya jump for adoption or something. Only picked it up out of a sense of obligation and I've realised there's plenty of ways to do it without using the supplement. It's not fun working on it so I thought I'd let someone else have a crack at it if they want.
I'd appreciate if anyone who does pick it up doesn't refer to the Servant Supplement, but if you have to at least talk with me first.
