First time playing D&D (4e), playing a Bard, and I was told to choose an implement. So I spend 7gp on a Wand, but it has no effect? Was it just a waste of gold?
If I recall correctly, non-magic implements, are, in fact, worthless. Some DMs might rule that you need them to use the power at all, but I do not believe that is RAW.
Basically you only start really needing one once you start getting magic ones.
Magic wands can hold an arcane encounter power as a daily power, or there can have various other effects.
4E is shit. Quit now.
>>44140738
So it was actually a waste of gold, unless I get the Enchanting ritual and a shitton more gold. Thanks

Not very helpful.
Another monster pops out of the sidewalk, but my quick pace burrows straight through it as I continue my mission.
I quickly look at my phone, no answer from Mom. I'm heading straight for the place where I saw her last, so she better just be hiding and not get into trouble! If I'm having this much trouble just getting to her, then I'm sure she wouldn't fare much better against these things.
I am Itsukuma Masami. Today is turning out to be the worst.
There are monsters everywhere, and the man who is causing it is no where to be found!
It's the worst!
Asai seems to have started his attack on the city. Chunks of concrete and iron emerge from every wall, every street, and every sidewalk. If it weren't for the armor on my back, I'm sure I would be powerless to stop any of it. I hope everyone else who doesn't have this kind of strength is hiding, and letting someone else deal with it.
That someone else is me, unfortunately.
The streets are starting to develop visible holes in them as more and more monsters emerge. All of them seem to be attracted to only one place in the whole world: where that giant is standing.
Maybe if I ignore it, it'll just go away? I'll try that for now, yes.
I enter the edge of the park where I found Kaori and Julie. Mom should be around here somewhere.
That's when I notice: The sidewalks are gone. Dirt is upturned and scattered about.
There, four figures are hugging each other. None of them are letting go.
"MOM!" I yell, running straight at them. Kaori is the first one to notice me, she stands up and waves her arms. I jump at her with my arms outstretched.
Then she steps out of the way and lets me eat dirt, oof.
"Why didn't you catch me!?" I pout.
"Because you weigh a thousand tons! You were bashing straight through solid concrete!" Kaori pouts back at me.
>What do we do!? What do we do!? What do we do!?
>Kaori! Make a plan! I'm bad at those!

Summary: After returning to his own territory, Daikon was forced to contend with Frieza's forces, who had invaded his empire. He defeated the first wave of them, but now two fighters of incredible power are approaching, and Daikon has been forced to retreat
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.
Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.
Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)
During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.
If a 100 is rolled, it is considered a crit success (unless 100 was the number you had to match).
If a 1 is rolled, it is a crit failure, regardless of whether or not the other two rolls are high enough to succeed.
If, during a battle, players want to attempt a writein action, that is allowed, but I am the one who will assign the number to it, so use caution
You're a young male Saiyan who fought in the war with the Tuffles. You are an average fighter for now, but have the potential of one of the greatest warrior races to roam the universe flowing through your veins. There is no limit to what you can accomplish through blood, sweat, and tears.

Infinite Stratos Quest: A Summer Day
Oh, how wrong you were. You thought you could just ignore Ms Foss's email. But when she came in force with the rest of her staff searching for you, you had no choice but to rely on your training. For the last week, you have been avoiding her patrols as you try and enjoy the first week of summer. Thankfully, you have a loyal set of allies. Laura and Charlotte had no problem hiding you at night. Cecilia was more than able to hide you in times of need in her room during the day or night. Houki is a close ally where ever you went. Even if she had to sit on you inside your QPCS that one time. And Rin was a great distraction as she kept on laughing whenever you had to hide, confusing the pursing forces.
“He's not here.” one of Ms Foss' assistants reports.
“Move onto the next floor.” the voice over the radio commands.
“On it.” the assistant replies back.
You are John Smith, only known male IS pilot, hiding inside your QPCS in the Dorm hallway. Today is the day of your date with Houki. It may still be a bit early to head to the festival with Houki but Ms Foss' forces are still persistent in hunting you down. Determined to hunt you down as the test subject to their, experiments. You have two choices ahead of you, you can either leave early with your date or you can wait around until the designated time to meet up with her.
[]Head out early with Houki.
[]Stay around the dorms for a bit.

So of the five lightsaber styles, do any encompass this style, where you create false openings and use force fuckery to fool your opponents? Full album here for those who haven't seen it http://imgur.com/gallery/rXss2
Should we create a sixth style like this?
>>44137362
In one of the EU books, (the one with Scout, can't remember its name) it states that 'Padawans, even before they start lightsaber training, learn how to counter Force kinesis.'
lolEU notwithstanding, it should probably be assumed that a bunch of Jedi would've figured out how to do this if it were useful.
There are seven styles.

What a twist!
Driven by the death of his daughter, Alex Merde has cast away his former life and body to become Necromantic Construct known as Humility. The old adventurer went on a quest in the city of Dum Nets where he met Laura and saved the city from a Forest Spirit. He was chased out of the East Kingdom out of accusations of murdering himself and a neighbor.
The hunger plagued Alex's mind, making him unable to go into a meditative state. Well at least he called it hunger. In truth it was an emptiness that screamed to be filled with the life-force of others.
The party consisted of 10 mercenaries, 3 adventurers (Champion, Wizard, Alchemist), 5 students, and the professor. Four of the mercenaries are standing watch.
Choose:
>Ignore the hunger for another night
>Partially feed on many
>Consume a mercenary

>Our wizard refuses to stop joking and intentionally breaks the game because he wants to be a fucking rubix cube, and his daily is turning into a firetruck because LMAOOOO XD XD SO RANDUMZ!!!!!
>Our fighter is basically a drunken homeless dwarf who shits himself constantly and uses brass knuckles and chairs as weapons, actually kind of funny
>Our Druid is just some druid
>Choose to be a vampire fighter
>DM gives them free reign but he somehow expects anyone but me to try and follow the story
>Over the course of the session I:
>Get my gear stolen by the rogue on his first turn
>Get roofied and pimped out as an unconcious sex doll by by group
>Level up once
>Get pushed off an airship and killed, while the guy that came down with me barely suffered a scratch
>Get my soul trapped in a teapot
>Spend 3/4s of the game doing absolutely fucking nothing
>Spend half of the time getting mocked by the rogue
>Get a temporary body for the endgame boss
>The boss is a monster with Lvl 18 Black Dragon stats
>We're all level 2
>Takes a couple hours and a shit ton of rule breaking to even kill it
>Get elected to be the DM for the next game
As you might have guessed, I declined.
It's not much of a story on my end, but I was once part of a group that was hosted at the DM's house. The DM was good, and the players were good too.
The thing that happened was that one of the older players; a guy I'm calling Joe. Joe is I think was in his late 40's and seemed like a regular guy and played a good witty character. Well on one particular session, I caught Joe in the room of the DM's 9 year old daughter stealing her underwear.
To this day I think my DM was a saint for handling the situation as well as he did (Not killing him on the spot). Joe was taken away by the police, and I don't know what happened to him since; nor do I care to know.

So the Angevin Empire?Battle of Bouvines best day of my life.
>Now I have problems with names. Neither fit purely English names nor French names.
You could go the Canadian route of combining French first names with English last names and vice versa. Otherwise just look up the names of the Normans and the Angevins, though you'll find that a lot of those names are distinctly French (though a lot of them were Anglofied in Anglophone history).
I guess a lot of nobles would have "last names" with a 'de' in them, so [First name] de(/of) [Geographical region]. Having an English first name and a French region in those names already goes a long way, such as... who else, William de Normandie.
French name + English sounding end maybe.

>Runeaushire
>Etienneswall
Or vice versa:
>Williamseau
>Regienne
>Johnsegne
Under a yellow star on an alien world the Predator Nekris hunts. This was what he was crafted for, his every fiber of being quivering with barely contained excitement held calm by his iron will.
After his ship and base were attacked he went hard at work with the Cauldron to produce new forces well equipped for the planet. Special among these he crafted a pair of the new Stalkers. Unique from the base model he gave them upgrades and weapons to make them more dangerous and effective trackers.
On the shore of a sandy beach Nekris inspects footprints already being washed away by wind and tide. A Gargoyle sails high above, providing aerial cover as the stalkers sniff along the ground attempting to follow the trail. Whoever the attackers had been they knew how to hide their tracks well, the trail disappearing once more into the ocean. One of the Stalkers started to follow into the surf but Nekris whistles for it to halt. Picking up a branch of driftwood from the beach he chucks it into the water and there was a flash of glinting light leaving the branch sliced into pieces. A wicked trap of razor thin wires left buried under the sand.
They were crafty and smart but Nekris was made for the hunt. They will not escape.

Punisher Agona walks the perimeter of her growing bunker fortress, the now timid Stonestar scuttling after her to answer any question she might have. Off in the distance she could see the glow of the massive volcano that had started belching large flows of molten rock only the day before. Gargoyles watch as Stonestar settlements suddenly appear to be on the move, emerging from caverns and crags to avoid oncoming lava.
Seemingly heralded by the mountains eruption was an outbreak of Stonestar warfare. Large groups emerging seemingly at random to fight bloody conflicts, caustic weapon throwers and living creatures launching javelins of chitin raining death among the fighters.
Even above the eternal storms seem to grow ever more violent, lighting flashing constantly in the clouds or sending great bolts to strike mountain tops. After a stray bolt has struck the hovering frigate Agona had grounded all ships and the construction of several large lightning rods to protect the craft.
Agona stops her march as she's contacted by a frantic Gargoyle and watches through its large eye. Hidden high on a cliff the Gargoyle overlooks a valley with a large sacrificial altar at the very edge of a fresh lava flow still glowing orange. There was a pitched battle underway between stonestar forces but your Gargoyle was focused on the shape rising up from the molten stone.
The hulk of glowing lava lifts itself up on four stout legs of flowing rock as it strides from the pool, launching globs of burning stone at the attackers. Its arrival quickly turns the tide, half of the fighters starting to flee while the others rally behind the new combatant as it attacks the fleeing stonestars. The victors cartwheeling on their radial limbs in celebration as the attacker, now seeming cooling and hardening returns stiffly to the warmth of the lava flow.
