I'll keep it short.
How do I stop being a rollplayer and start becoming a roleplayer?
>pic related. It's how I roleplay
Even though my characters are fully fleshed out (background, general behaviour, dreams, hopes, etc.) I somehow have a hard time getting into them.
Tbh, as long as you don't metagame, you're fine. Just try to find something simple to have your character occasionally focus on and you're good.

Every time I create an immensely popular TV show, someone always comes along and writes a parody of a non-canon self-insert character who is perfect in every way and which is designed specifically to illustrate the problem of bad fanzine fiction.
Or did OP write "Mary Sue" when he meant "poorly-designed character"?
>>44605549
I think OP has no clue about what a Mary Sue actually is.

I spent the last 4 hours reading and rereading the rule to Paths of Glory. I don't own the game, I don't plan to, and I have nobody to play with, but I'd absolutely be up for a game.
>>44570614
For what it's worth, I don't think I've ever once seen people play games of that sort in my area like, ever. Everyone tends to favor euro styles heavily though, that and light stuff, so I guess it's probably why. Still, I need to sit down one day and try one. I think a giant game of axis and allies sounds fun, but I guess that's not the same. Still need to play that too, lol.

fucks sake, next time can someone PLEASE make an OP image that's readable from the catalog? hard as fuck to find bgg these days. Also whatever happened to the pastebin?
So for Christmas, I got a bunch of books on Algonquian wendigo folklore, which I have devoured. I would love to share a lot of the cool material within with /tg/, for use in campaigns, but I am unsure of where to start. Also, I have to be in bed in a little under three hours if I'm going to get to work on time tomorrow.
So if /tg/ has any questions in the next three hours it would like to ask about wendigos, please feel free. If you have a question and I miss it, I'll check the archive and try to answer it in a follow-up thread tomorrow.
How do I make a wendigo pc?
On a serious note, just how dangerous is a wendigo if we have a guy who can bend the laws of nature to his will, a robot that never sleeps, and a guy who can communicate with the Deep Ones?
And how many types of wendigo are there?
>>44551706
Not OP, but talking from experience. It depends on the level of the PC's. A wendigo makes a brilliant BBEG to a reasonably low-level party, but the moment they're even on-par with it, it's a middling threat at best.
>>44551763
Skinwalker, can perfectly imitate voices, extremely fast, horrifying, expert at hiding, among other things. I'm pretty sure a wendigo can be more than just a middling threat. The older they get, the more dangerous they are, right? That's how they work, isn't it? Can you imagine what would happen if they worked in pairs, or as a group? I'm shivering at just the thought of it.
Welcome back for another Late Night Random Civ Thread special. I'm you host, OP and tonight we're going to be starting off from the last part we ended at two nights ago, the werewolf attack.

Your spearman rest a bit to cook up some Ku-fee. They all decided to take a little more grind from their Ku-fee pack, just in case things get hairy. Most of the men, if not all, snort the grind, becoming twitchy but having better reactions, and also drink a cup.
They pack up their Ku-fee bags and start to march into the forest. Right before they are about to enter the men from the fisherman huts come over to your spearman, and want to join the hunting band. They are equipped with fishing spears.

Could some people who are more familiar with the 40k setting settle a small dispute for me? Discounting possible variations in fighting style, tactics, etc., would this be a somewhat even fight? Not completely on par, but with each side having a reasonable chance of victory. They’re fighting over a fortress/light manufacturing planet with very variable topography.

if they got the daemons out there's a god chance there's an entrance to the warp opens which means the imperium's going to need to mobilize a lot more forces space marines might be able to handle the chaos mariens and demons but the other chaos forces will be causing havoc all over the planet that the guard and sororitas will need to take on
>>44616864
Fluff-wise or rules-wise ?
For me it all depends on the Skitarii, since they go from "barely augmented guardsmen" to "terminator in anything but name, but with additional weaponry on mechadendrites"

the only issue is its misguided sense of regret

The room is completely silent.
Irene's sitting on the couch, waiting for me and Theresa to pass judgement on her. And while I can't speak for Theresa, I'm really at a loss here. From everything that Irene just told me, her sister has every reason to hate her. I mean, if something happened to Allison and the voice in my head tried to take her place, I'd probably never forgive it.
After what seems like forever, I finally manage to sort out my thoughts, breaking the silence with a long groan.
"Irene..." I turn to her, "what...

Ivan merely shakes his head before continuing. “Eventually, when en route to a mission, he turned on his fellow squad mates, injuring all three of them, and hijacked the transport vessel, killing the pilot. That’s the man you killed.”
His words hang in the air, even after he said them.
His fingers drum rapidly on the knee of his frame. “They sent our squad, or more specifically, me, because I have experience dealing with such runaways.”

Age: 736
Location: Planet Vegeta
Information: With Frieza defeated, Daikon and the others returned to Planet Vegeta, where they found the king playing reluctant host to the God of Destruction, Lord Beerus. After proving to Beerus that he was capable of defeating Frieza, Daikon seized the throne from the King, and took over Planet Vegeta.
Welcome to Saiyan Quest. This takes place in the years Frieza controlled Planet Vegeta, as the Saiyans grow in strength and try to find a way to free themselves.
Voting will operate on a first to five system, at least for the time being.
Dialogue is allowed to be added to votes, as are actions (though I'll ignore what I consider shitposting)
During battles, options will usually have a number assigned to them. After that vote has won, players will roll a d100, and have three chances to match or beat that number.
If a 100 is rolled, it is considered...

It's been a few short days since you took control of Planet Vegeta.
You've since dealt with the expected resistance, finding that it was easily put down once you made a display of power that demonstrated just how much stronger you are than the previous king. And, the fact that you killed Frieza has gained you plenty of support.
Kamatsuna's been at work connecting Planet Vegeta with the worlds you control so far away. Proper communications have been established, all that's needed is a decision on what to do next.

Okay /tg/ !
I'm currently bored and listening for Metal, what about making a random encounter table, starting from 01 up to 100 ? Anything goes as long as it's fantasy and can happen anywhere "on the road" for journeys and such
I'll start:
>01: The party discovers a corpse on the side of the road. His eyes are closed. If someone decides to open them, he discovers that they unexpectedly turned into stone.
>>44607175
02. An anus. Behold it!
>>44607175
Curious here, what are you listening to OP ?
>03. You come across a pile of spider eggs. They look fresh
>04: After a pretty terrible botched, needlessly complicated and fairly comedic murder attempt, the would-be assassin begs and pleads on her knees to the party for mercy confessing she was given a random target to kill in order to join the assassins guild, and in exchange offers the skills of her former profession; a pretty good cook.

Why we can't get like 2-3 actually GOOD allies?
>>44607142
The problem is not even that, it is just they don't even synergyze at all with the old allies.
>>44607142
>>44607384
The REAL problem is that they print tribal shit at all. No more allies please. I've had enough boring cards for one set.
Quick! Create a BBEG's personality and history then post a picture, the best one will be used in my campaign.
Doesnt have to fit any specific theme or design.

Choose a game setting. It is now effected by spiral energy, what happens?
Might help if anybody had any idea what the fuck "spiral energy" was.
>>44602070
Lurk more.
>>44601856
40k now belongs to the Orks.
D&D now belongs to the Orcs
In fact, pretty much every setting belongs to the Greenskins when spiral power is introduced.
>>44602086
Fuck you. Everyone doesn't watch every anime.
Anyway, Spiral energy is really just your average life energy, with a focus on progress, evolution and hot blood. It's magic.
