Railroad general? Railroad general.
>>44860959
>not expecting this shit
If I were a big bad, I would monologue all the time, but I would have a fuckload of traps in place beforehand so I could taunt adventurers into them.
It's like you don't even mastermind.
>>44861022
Trap doors, spike pits, crocodile tunnels, a straight chute to the 'Here's my other dragons' room, Magic Forcefield, mana bombs under the tiles, and comically sized bear traps that decapitate the victim.
Am I missing anything?
Since i'm sure nourishing shoal will get hit with a ban next time, I made my own take on a modern goryo's vengeance deck. Works kind of like sneak and show. You loose a little bit of speed on your kill, but it's more interactive and less susceptible to hate. Opinions?

>>44860009
Can we get some Twin players in here? I haven't fed on enough asspain yet. Reddit and mtgsalv are great sources right now though.
>>44860009
I could see Goryo sticking around with how much graveyard hate there is in Modern. Now that Twin is dead there are suddenly slots in sideboards to focus on other decks.
>>44860009
The eldrazi decks run a ton of graveyard hate main board just to exile shit. So that's a new issue to deal with.
>>44860296
I was planning to be a twin player, it was going to be my first deck. I ordered most of the cards on MCM, spent 400$. 2 days after I received the cards, they announced the bans. I'm still crying.
We lay to rest one of the best
As a player of simic shenanigans, I agree full heartedly with the ban. Built in protection, huge mana advantage, immediate creature advantage, almost certain card advantage.
There is no counterplay and I feel disgusting having played it

Huh, that's a cool map, where did our Canadian bros go though? Also I don't think the Vietnamese are going to do super well in Greenland this time of year.
>>44860288
Right next to India/Bangladesh. I bet Japan would love being across the pond from Germany.
>>44860288

Pakistan I think :(
"I'm just playing my character"
Valid.
If you have a problem with the way a character acts, why are they even in the party?
>>44859547
I'm not really part of the party, see. I'm a Raistlin clone who just kinda happens to be travelling with the group as long as they further my ends...

If you live under a rock, Twin and Summer Bloom are now banned

DONT ANY OF YOU NIGGER SEE LOAM POX DECKS BEING GOOD IN THIS META HOLY SHIT. DEFEATS INFECT,BOGLES, and storm ez pz. Tron is an alright match-up, and for eldrazi desu senpai their win cons will be discarded before they play them.
>>44858901
Eldrazi and Tron both play 2-4 relic main.

why play loampox when you can play based dredgevine reanimator
So, I've been wanting to get back into RPGs for a while now, and someone at my FLGS mentioned Dungeon World. I haven't heard much of anything about it, so I figured I'd ask you guys. How is it? How does it work? Is it any good?
I've had a lot of fun with it with one of my groups
helped rekindle a lot of my love of rpgs, though it does have some of its own problems.
the system does whats advertised, it's rules for advancement are fun, but odd.
Easy to learn and introduce new people to rpgs. Encourages a lot of good habits in terms of roleplaying group story telling. Not great at long term campaigns and has a few weird parts in being a hack/reskin of a pretty different game (apocalypse world) but that's more a matter of preference.
Makes some people very very angry because it uses different words.
>>44858654
It's heavily narrative- and roleplay-based. Players are pretty much required to help develop the story ("How did you hear about the X of Y?/What dark secret about Y do you know?/Who really created the X?")
Excessive use of terminology (like the ever-present "move") makes reading it a little clunky.
I wish it didn't shoehorn alignments and had more race-class options.
I've never really been that good at examining mechanics. I like the resolution mechanics because it seems to be the only d100 system where you have almost no chance at failing at something you're actually good at, and where progression in that skill makes you more likely to have critical success and less likely to have critical failures, instead of just as likely to have either one.
The only thing I can think of is that character creation is a little too labyrinthine with too many choices, making it hard for new players to get into.
It's a fun setting plagued by the anarchist wank of the authors, and the ruleset is clunky.
>>44858644
Mostly the dumbass opinion of the authors I think. Also character creation is a pain in the ass.
>>44858844
I admit the rules do seem to have a little too much going on, but the anarchist fluff doesn't seem TOO bad. The way the reputation system works in the autonomist stations isn't that dumb, at least not any dumber than most RPG economies.
/tg/, how can I justify the pope secretly being a violent rogue, and joining the party to steal valuable art out of mosques in a modern day setting?
Also, cool ideas for NPC's thread I guess
>>44858641
Don't justify it. Just do it.
>>44858641
There is nothing worth of robbin in mosques. Only tiles. Are you a tile-lover freak?
>>44858641
God wills it
You've done it, you've got to the BBEG, but then music starts playing. What is it?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1tj2zJ2Wvg
>Party gets trapped in a small room
>The door is locked but has slits to let some light in
>BBEG is at the door and starts pushing his fecal matter through the slits to fall to the floor or onto whoever is closest to the door
>Starts singing "Do you know, the muffin man?"
We had a remarkable moment on a RPG because we put the player on random.
Almost every music until now being adventure generic music, final fantasy or something, until we get to the evil lich for the first time and he does his speech. Just at the start of the speech some shakira music starts playing.
This lich is now the dancing Lich, the most fabulous undead to exist in the world. He goes around doing strange lust dances to entice the boners of unwary adventurers.

Can you be a paladin if you're stealing power from demons to fight other demons with?
>>44858045
no.
>>44858045
Yeah, absolutely. I'll allow it. Hell, in the 13th Age, my generic fantasy setting of choice, that's a thing totally supported by the lore and the mechanics. There's a Paladin option called the Way of Evil Bastards, often utilized by dark knights in service to the Crusader, a moral absolutist who sieges the pits from which demons emerge and then binds them to his service through a pact with dark gods.
Yeah, sure. Why not? Everyone on /tg/ likes good necromancers, so bad boy paladins should be just fine.

Who would win? 100 Catachans or 1000 cadians, assuming they are fighting in the jungle.

The Kroot.
Welp, another general was made the same time I put this one up
Crafting pineapple bombs hasn't been the most confusing experience you've had until this day. Astreya did most of the work since you have no magical power to speak of, but for the most part it was nothing strange or particularly weird: you just had to collect, carry and carve a lot of them. She also used some kind of copper paint to coat them, which she explained served both as sealing mechanism and to make sure they aren't confused with actual pineapples that are good for eating.
Of course you did save some, as Astreya told you to, for tonight's dinner,...

Tell me about how your first pen and paper session went.
>>44856493
My brother made me play D&D 2E because he didn't have enough friends, he proceeded to bully me most of the campaign until I killed his boss with a critical.
>>44856493
It was fun. We played D&D 3.5e at a friends house and while it was fun it also happened to be goofy as shit.
One player wouldn't stop trying to shoot enemies in the eyes with his crossbow, another kept trying to suplex enemies.
The session ended with a character successfully suplexing an arch demon into a table and killing it.
A rich, expressive story, expressed in the way that only a 15-year-old stoner could
