Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm on my phone and away from my book. Were there any ultramarines that weren't at the calth muster? Also, were any loyal to Horus?
>>44864135
Well, their primarch was kind of an asshole.
>>44864176
How so? He wasn't as bad as pert, or angron. He seemed to genuinely care about his marines.
On a side note, did any ultramarines go traitor when roboute created imperium secundus?

At your return to Rioja the media are waiting in force despite the usual attempts to keep them away. Fortunately there was time to prepare with your PR team and some of the diplomats, setting up a press conference where you make a statement to the press.
While you describe the entire attack on the Nasidum expeditionary fleet as a defensive action to protect the Houses of the region, you also agree that it's a major victory.
You dedicate the victory to the many smaller Houses of the region, working together to oppose Nasidum and their attempts to bully others...

There's no time, not enough time for anything. You beckon Sera over to you and she embraces you tightly, surprised tears rolling down her cheeks. Your own throat feels tight, but you push past it to try and say something encouraging.
"Sera-" You draw a breath as you realise how much emotion has crept into your voice and start again. "Sera, I know parting is hard. I'm going to miss you, but I know you're going to make me proud. You return to the village slowly, melancholy weighing on your steps. Explaining things to Beren will not be easy, but your wife is wise. She'll understand that Sera made her choice and it was a choice not only for what she wanted, but for the best possible future.
SLAP!
Your left cheek joins your right in a stinging, embarrassing burn. You're sure Galit has left a red handprint on both sides of your face as she and Beren sob. Sera is more composed, but still cries at her sister's absence...

Does reading 40k/30k make you sad? I don't know why but the 40k universe makes me incredibly sad when I consider its themes. Particularly the Horus Heresy. I think it might have something to with the fact that it really hits home on the 'What could have been' aspect. The severing of ties between those who were really close gets to me. Ferrus and Fulgrim. Horus and the Emperor. Angron and his fellow slaves. Lorgar and his faith in the Emperor. Hell, these are just major examples.
Does 40k stir up any emotion in you or am I alone in this?
>>44854370
That is the point of Grimdark.
There are no true heroes if there is no unbeatable darkness.
A hero is not the one who wins against evil, a hero is the one that fight even when there is no hope.
That's what makes 40k so epic.
>>44854461
Ollanius Pius knows his shit
>>44854370
That's the point, it's a cosmic tragedy. A lot of the plot elements are pulled from other tragedies and each factions background hinges on a tragic irony; the Imperium worships an emperor who hated religion, the eldar are the wisest yet the cause of their own destruction, the orks live for war and would lose meaning if they ever won, the tyranids are the galaxies greatest threat yet they are running from something more terrible etc.

So guys, how's your campaigns going?
Tell me the funniest/funnest thing your players have done. Or, what's the most interesting encounter your GM has set up for you?
We haven't yet started the campaign, but soon I hope to get a RT campaign going. That said, how well does Forsaken Bounty work as an intorductory adventure?

My players asked me to allow this asshat to join the game, I didn't want to allow him but said I'd try him out.
Didn't go well, he was a rules lawyer and a That Guy as expected, but he's such a moany little bitch I couldn't just kick him out, so I was stuck with him for a couple more games.
He's playing a psyker and being pretty open with his abilities but the team are going pretty stealthily through the game with covers as just normal guys, bunch of traders or some shit,...

Let's have a Burning Wheel/Torchbearer/Mouse Guard thread.
Anyone playing/running/planning on playing/planning on running any of these games soon?
Anyone back the Burning Wheel Codex Kickstarter?
How do you feel about BWHQ publishing Dungeon World?
Who /worships Luke Crane/ here?
Anyone ever actually got a BWHQ game to the table?
>>44850398
>Who /worships Luke Crane/ here?
Reporting in. If you've got a head for rules and want the system to mean something for how the game's going to play out, Burning Wheel is the single best game ever written.
I'm not sure whether to pledge for the newest BW book because I have the old Burners handy on my shelf, but I'm seriously tempted.
>>44850398
>Anyone playing/running/planning on playing/planning on running any of these games soon?
I wish, sadly don't have anything in the works at the morning
>Anyone back the Burning Wheel Codex Kickstarter?
This guy, managed to snag a signed copy.
>How do you feel about BWHQ publishing Dungeon World?
Pretty indifferent, not a big fan of DW myself but I don't really care if they work together.
>Who /worships Luke Crane/ here?
Worship might be a little much, but I do like a lot of his games.
>Anyone ever actually got a BWHQ game to the table?
Couple of times, sadly none of them lasted very long, just for typically scheduling bullshit.
>>44850643
I pledged for it because I only had the pdfs. Plus, it's gonna look cool as fuck sitting next to Gold on my shelf.
>>44850830
I feel you on the scheduling, I bought the new Mouse Guard thinking I could finally get something BW related to the table (my group is 50% board game players so they'd never actually play/read BW). Sadly, I only got to play one session which I royally fucked up because I misunderstood how the GM's turn really works. Haven't had the people together for it since. As someone that loves to just read the rules though, BWHQ stuff is great.I still really wish I got to play it though.

So uhhh.DeadGameDeadThread.
So how do I Cyriss? I like the Vectors, I've read up on strategy and such, but they still seem a bit odd to me. Any suggestions?
As an aside, I'm thinking full-on Borg for their color scheme - but then again that might seem a bit Cryxian, what with them hoarding all the black and green.

>What's in the mail?
FFG art sleeves, apparently the lightsaber ones were a limited printing so getting those for SW:Risk protection.
>What's hit your table this weekend?
Hit up the non-gamer siblings with Elder Sign earlier; theme went over well and they dug the component quality. Still not my favorite Yatzhee clone but since I got it in a math trade last August I've been meaning to get it played at least once.

If you're just getting into the hobby Twilight Struggle is prolly not your best bet. It's at the top of BGG rankings because the people who will play it adore the game, so they rank it highly. Those who won't enjoy it, avoid the game, so it doesn't suffer from a lot of bad ratings. Whitleypedia had a good segment last year where he suggested the best reading on what people enjoyed was to go by the most voted on list; as those tend to square up most with people's choice voting.

I introduced a guy to board games with TS but he was a huge Cold War nerd and loved the idea. It's not an overly complex game, there are only 10 pages of neatly organized rules and then everything else is on the cards.
Reposting this for anon.

For me - nothing. Buying my friend Bruges, though. I'll probably skip buying games in February, though. Managed to play Nightfall once and still haven't played BattleCon. I'm itching to play Nightfall more.

1. StarCraft: BroodWar
Had a lot of fun - jewed out 4 points per round for 3 consecutive rounds and then got my shit pushed in by 3 people in two next rounds. We finished early because one guy had to split but I'd have probably lost. I had a shit to of SCVs no base, a couple of vultures and marines and surrounded by enemies. Next time I'll aim for being second and try to close in in two rounds.
2. Imperial Settlers
I think I have a special version of autism that lets me be good at this game. Won all games of this so far. Ended up the last with around 150 points.
>Any new games on your radar?
I prefer getting something tested at list a bit. The newest game I want to get right now is Sheriff of Nottingham and maybe Blood Rage. I'm still looking for a fun 4X that's not in space and complex/tactical games.
This is Boruto Quest, a quest set in the universe of Naruto. It is during the generation of Naruto's son, shortly after everyone has graduated from their Genin exam. I haven't kept up with the series beyond the end of the original one, so this one is intended to recapture the feel of that time of Naruto. I will not be incorporating the main show or the Boruto movie's plot into the quest, although some recognizable characters will be present. You play as a 12 year old Chunin graduate named Takeshi. You have been assigned a Jounin squad leader named Hanto, and your...

Linking this from last thread, it's a complication of my notes for the system(s) I've been working on. Feel free to pick apart/critique/ask questions about any part. I'm goin to try and salvage as much as possible.
By the way, I think we should actually slap the links on a pastebin with names for the links for new threads, this is starting to get clunky and ridiculous- there's about 200 characters left for the thread topic and any new links we might need to add
And speaking of new OP links, if anyone has any resources for the people making wargames and card games, please do share them
