This comic has been declining for years. Even with the recent reboot where Burlew promised less text. So I'm thinking of running a game where the players are tiny. Borrowers style; maybe 2 inches tall.
I've got a setting for it, a reason they exist, differences set up between them and humans; but I'm still thinking about what being that small means. The physics of it are a particular sticking point in my mind. Theoretically, something that is that small should be able to fall a great distance and not be injured because of air resistance; like how you can drop an ant from several feet in the air and not hurt it. One of the things I remember from the Ghibli Borrowers movie was that water behaved differently for them. It sort of beaded up in big drops on them and they could swat it off.

I struggle to pull my book out of my chest, gritting my "teeth" which is kind of hard to do when they're made out of jelly and slime. I really hate the end of class, which is weird because I used to love it. Maybe it has something to do with how much chaos a bunch of girls with monster parts and bodies can cause trying to rush out of a room at once.
I mean getting a table to the face was bad, but it was just the appetizer to having to pull out not just a book out me, but quite a few now paintless pencils from my face. I swear I'm about to start boiling, literally.
And then I start laughing happily as I turn the book upside down, watching my slime drip off from its plastic covering. Oh that's a silly reason to be mad, I mean I'd do the same if I was them anyways, besides I'm sure someone got a good laugh out of seeing me a bit splattered. And its not like I accidentally digested my math homework again, so nothing really lost there
I run my hand through and into my hair, my laugh turning to a giggle as I shake my head as I see a kind of orangish slime girl slide by looking sorry for herself. It's always kind of depressing to see people who haven't gotten used to their bodies.

Your eyes flutter open in the darkness of the very early morning. You breathe in the intoxicating scent of Rowe's curls and listen to her restful breathing as she remains asleep. Well, this is one unforeseeable drawback of your shortened sleep cycle. You slowly extricate yourself from her body trying not to wake her. You think you fail as you hear her angered groans while slipping your arm out from around her. She quickly readjusts herself and settles back into sleep without anymore complaining.
You gingerly sneak out of bed and sit down at the central table to begin your communion. You and Rowe are unofficially roommates now, seeing as she has an extra bed which you two never use. No offense to Ed. He's been a pretty stellar person to live with, but he's a lot less fun to cuddle. Of course, with Rowe you've had to put up with the OTHER roommate.
You open your eyes to look over at Sif, curled up on the floor, staring at you with an intense focus. He seems to generally regard you with a basic amount of courtesy and respect. You quietly stride over to him and pet the wolf as he raises his head to study your approach. Hard to believe Rowe managed to domesticate a wild animal in such a short time frame. I've been hearing more and more about this series lately, and the consensus is that it's the best thing to come out of syfy in a while.

Good world building and ideas, but I don't know if it's all that great. I guess it just gets kind of boring an incapable of staying focused. It loves to run off and explore other things, then running back to the main characters from the other books and roping the two togeather.

One of the few books that correctly represents distances and most probable designs for spaceships this and space combat make it already better than majority of scifi.
The authors have stated that they wanted to create a series about switch from slower than light to faster than light travel and how it would affect societies and it feels like they done job well.
Also twists in the middle of the book are usually fun and escalate things in interesting ways (except Cibola Burn)
