Assuming a massive nuclear exchange between NATO and Russia plus China and India and the destruction of pretty much all the major cities of the world and resulting EOTWAWKI scenario, how long would dams last after humanity reverts to medieval technology?
Specifically, earthfill dams like this one.
Would the locals be able to maintain the dam indefinitely with a dark ages level of technology, or would it just degrade over time and eventually fail after a few decades or centuries?

Any current or ex US military officers on here?
I'm in school for engineering but am considering joining the military as an officer.

Pay is pretty okay. You can look it up yourself.
Officers do not get to pick their branch specialty, least not in the Army. The Army likes it's officers to be generalists / jack-of-all-trades.
Most of your time will be spent compiling briefs on powerpoint, and doing paperwork. This is mostly true for all branches.

Why would you go through all the hard work of getting an engineering degree, and waste it in the military? Officer pay is ok, engineering pay is amazing. If you want to actually help the military go work for Lockheed and troubleshoot the F 35 or something.

What is that uniform, and where does it come from? It's widely used in the Azov reservist / paramilitary regiment of Ukraine, almost everyone wears it. The regiment is equipped by some wealthy oligarch, but I don't know where he bought this stuff. Looks pretty cool imo.
Which is rather strange, since there is a variety of different uniforms even in the regular army where you'll see a wide variety of camo, from flecktarn, to old & new ukrainian stuff.

I think SBR's and suppressors actually have a pretty good chance in the next couple of years if the elections go right. There has been a ton of movement at the State level.
