Even do i am quit optimistic about Russian war capabilities .
There is no way they can hold against a full on NATO assault

Good thing there will probably never be a full-on NATO assault on russia, then.
>>
Thé only thing ruskies have is their nuke stockpile, the s400, China, iran and those couple of slav puppet countries, (aka Georgia,Kazakhstan and belarussia)

Which is of course not enough to defend it from the NATO forces

Will powered bodyarmor make tanks obsolete?
A body armor can conceal itself in terrain with a rocket-launcher while being impervious to artillery for the most part.

Why confine your equipment to the human form? Tanks are the shape they are because it is the most efficient.

That being said, I do think unarmored exoskeleton systems will see an increase in use as the technology becomes more refined and the battery issue is solved.

I just bought this commercial Luger for a decent price but I want some tips on how to remove the thick rust.

>buy Luger for $500
>little finish left with light surface rust
>all matching numbers

I have already used some CLP and a rag but some of the thick shit remains. Obviously I don't plan on taking steel wool or anything abrasive to it
36 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
Take some 0000 steel wool and what ever gun oil you use and do very light passes, this shouldn't leave any scratches on the metal. You won't get all of it but you will remove any active surface rust.

http://www.janes.com/article/58528/analysts-examine-role-of-china-s-future-carrier-force

>Analysts with insight into the planning of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) state that the series of aircraft carriers the service intends to build will be used in different, but potentially provocative, operational roles. Rather than being used for power projection missions in the manner of US Navy carrier battle groups, the carriers will instead be inserted into regions where Beijing feels compelled to buttress its territorial and economic interests.

>Most obviously these include the disputed territorial waters of the East and South China Seas. In these scenarios the carriers would be used as floating aerodromes and used to fill in gaps between China's artificially constructed islands to create a contiguous air defence network.

>A secondary role would be to protect Chinese overseas interests, particularly some of Beijing's new far-flung military commitments. In November 2015 China announced that it would build it first overseas naval installation in the East African nation of Djibouti.

>PLAN Rear Admiral Yin Zhuo, a former national security adviser to the Chinese political leadership who also sits on the naval forces' cyber security advisory board, told the state-run Xinhua News Agency on 3 March that a force of several carriers is a logical step, given the growing number of China's overseas interests and investments, along with the need to protect the rights of overseas ethnic Chinese.

When is it too late?

So, what does /k/ think about the F-35? Is it worth the money? Is it good enough to justify all the $$$ that the government is spending on it, when it could be using that same money for things like healthcare, education, and infrastructure? I read that for the price of one F-35, we could buy as many as six F-16's. If that's true then it seems like it would make more sense to just buy more F-16's to have a larger fleet of planes for a lower price.

>MBT LAW (Experimental use by Air Force)
>SA-18 (Used by the Army)
>DH-5 fragmentation grenade (Local variation of the M67)
>M18 smoke grenade

>M9 Bayonet standard issue bayonet for all branches

Camouflages
>Army uses a local variation of the Finnish M05, some older units use a variation of the Flecktarn pattern
>Marine Corps uses similar digital woodland pattern like the USMC, with a desert and urban variation
>Air force uses more traditional ERDL patterns, both woodland and desert variations
>Navy uses a a blue ERDL pattern while at sea and black & white variation on land
>Special forces share camouflages of the branches they operate with, but use a "chocolate chip" camo

How effective would a railgun be against an aircraft carrier?
64 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
high speed low drag
>>
>>29149572
Prolly a dent. pretty easy fix with a hammer though.
>>
>>29149572

It would punch through the aircraft carrier's fairly thin belt, but you'd need to hit it several times to get it to sink. Carriers are massive, and you'll likely not get a second time to hit them once their aircraft are trained on you.

yes but it would be heavy and not very good at any one thing the original .50cal "sniper" rifles were m2s with scopes thrown on them but you could take a F/A AR15 with a heavy barrel throw a underbarrel shotgun on it and youve got a marksmens ar15 with a shotgun on it that can go full auto
