The -85 and later variants fixed a lot of the problems, but the Sherman was simply a better design.

It'll never be more than a sniper cartridge due to OAL and barrel life issues. The US isn't going to adopt a 338LM MMG just because goat fuckers are shooting across mountain tops with enfields anytime soon.

Well /k/, I'm finally in a position to start shopping for my first gun. I'm considering getting either a Savage Arms AXIS in .22-250 or a 93R17 in .17 HMR, but I'm having trouble deciding which to get. Most of my hasguns friends have recommended Savage for a budget firearm and I would like to stay under $400. Any recommendations?
Get the 17hrm or better yet a 22lr.
Cheaper ammo means your more likely to shoot more and get better

If you like savage, 22-250, and live near a cabelas you can get a varmint barreled savage 12fv for $419 with a hundred dollar mail in rebate... It's like a pretty good step up from the axis...

Women are on general principle much physically weaker then men. There is no denying that. But let's say that power armor, for whatever reason, is now a practical, reliable suit of body armor (or just an IOTV that is powered) that has a battery that lasts, let's say, two weeks.
Assuming the army does choose to buy/produce this, would that solve some of the problems of physical fitness and health for women in the army?
Also, on a side note, would power armor be treated like body armor for women in that it has to be adjusted for her?
