I recently bought this rifle from a flea market and the only identifying marks on it are pic related. it's chambered in 6.5mm and I was just wondering if anyone knows what the symbols mean or what kind of gun this is.

That's probably a good price. Usually they're about $350, but it varies pretty wildly depending on the condition and when and where it was made.
here's a full picture if that might help price it a little better
Take it to an expert and have them tell you if it is a "last ditch" rifle. If it is indeed a last ditch, then it might not be safe to shoot. I personally am not very knowledgeable about Arisakas, but I went to a gun show earlier this month and saw some for that price; the guy selling them said that they weren't safe to shoot.

according to >>29504932 the type 38 was replaced with the 99 much earlier, so it's only the type 99 that you have to watch out for last ditch ones.
