Buying my first handgun/firearm. Was thinking of buying a m&p based on other people recommending them. Thoughts? I'm a novice but have a pretty basic understanding.
M&P is a fine pistol. The same can be said of Glocks, VP9, or any other pistol in that price range.
Your best bet would be to go to a range that allows you to rent pistols and rent a few and see which one fits your hands the best.

Everyone's gonna r ecco mend what works for then and what they hear works, but what matters most is what you think of it and how it feels to you.

Here is update #4.
The NPO paperwork was filed in South Africa. It turns out that starting an NPO in South Africa is a lot cheaper and easier than doing it in the U.S.
As for the U.S. non profit. We're doing some more research as where we'll incorporate. It's down to Delaware and Nevada. Each one has advantages and disadvantages. We're also doing fictitious name and trademark searches. We really don't need some name or trademark troll suing us and shaking us down of our vital anti-poaching funds. Non profit status in the U.S. is two steps. First we have to incorporate, then we can file with the IRS to get 501c3 status.
My brother in law has both 4x4 Nissans running and road worthy. They just need paint and logos, which will come later when the graphic design work is done. I got the Nissan Patrol trucks pretty cheap (the dollar is really strong right now) and they didn't need a ton of work. So I'm into the vehicles for less than $5,000.
I've had a lot of /k/ommando reach out to me and express interest in the project. I've put up a temp website that has some more information as well as an interest form that makes it easy to keep track of who is interested and what they can offer the program.

What does /k/ think of D2 and Elmax steels? I'm thinking of getting a Szabo Tomohawk in D2 steel but I also found this 3" folder ( making it legal anywhere in the U.S. ) in Elmax which, aside from one YouTuber's review, has gotten decent praise. I'd be interested in hearing what /k/ thinks of these steels and the products themselves.
Worth noting: They also have an assisted version of this knife as well as an automatic version.

You bail out at 20 years, collect 42,000 a year for the rest of your life, plus benefits. Go get a federal government job or a milindustrial complex job with degree and officer experience. work another 20 years, collect second pension and benefits. Now you are 60 or so. Your pension is 80k a year and benefits.
Retirement house should be paid off by now. Use VA loan and a third job to buy a second house and pay it off in a few years. Retire for real this time. Have two houses, several nice cars, a motorcycle and lots of financial security.
