Why don't buildings at bases have armor on them, the way tanks do? Every building I've ever seen at pictures of forward operating bases is basically a wooden box with some sandbags littered around it - wouldn't it be easy to just take the same armor that's on an M1 Abrams and just plate the building?
It'd make them more or less impervious to any kind of bombing or mortar attack, since the armor on an Abrams makes it impossible to defeat

B) they use a lot of home made rockets that are basically just pipe-bombs strapped to rocket motors
C) or 50-60 year old warsaw pact rockets that wont make it through 3-4 layers of sandbags anyways.
It costs close to a hundred grand (or more usually)ejust to up-armour a vehicle, a building? Millions, some of those buildings...

reinforced cement is cheaper and easier to make than armor plating for buildings.
Sandbags are even better than cement at stopping kinetic projectiles than metal plates, while costing less and being more readily available.

Just money compared to practicality. If there were a war between two first world countries most places would probably just be civilian buildings repurposed. The only places with armor on them so to speak are mainly just bunkers.
So I've put magpul on my Remington 870, my Ak (pistol grip only), almost every AR15 I own, and for every gun they make magazines for. I honestly think they make the best aftermarket furniture and accessories. What is your thoughts on Magpul /k/?

In the future radar and signal processing will improve to the extent that electronic warfare will be the (best/only) defence. 'Stealth' as we know it today will be short lived.
Fighter aircraft may stop being:
1. Small manoeuvrable aircraft
2. Manned
We will probably see aircraft the size of an F111 or maybe B1, full with radar, offensive / defensive ECM and computing power. They will launch manoeuvrable weapons or even drones to do the fighting for them.
Autonomous drones will take over much of the work from modern fighter aircraft...

A little more expensive now but worth it
Former nogunz poorfag here, inherited my grandfather's hunting rifles/shotguns a few months ago and had some shitty luck with one of them. Apparently Remington's 597 .17HMR has been factory recalled for the past 7 years, but I guess my grandpa never found out and just kept it for pest control. Last week I figured I'd give the .17 a chance and shot it with my friends, and the magazine ended up exploding near my friend's sister's face and shot powder 5 or so yards out the chamber. Nobody was injured, but I have no desire to fire this piece of shit again...

Because aircraft are really expensive to fly. And for any movie to be a movie about aviation rather than a movie that has planes in it, you'd need a lot of flight time, and/or a shitload of CGI.
