I have only shot the GP100 out of those two, but I loved it. The S&W is also a classic. I don't think you have a "bad" option so much as choosing which one will be more awesome for you personally.

I've been living out of my home state, and evidently my stepbrother has been getting into my guns that I had in a lock box. He's also been getting in trouble lately, has showed neighborhood kids my weapons and has apparently stole a package from a neighbor.
How do I get him to stop? As far as the guns go when I come back home in may I'm going to take them back with me to VA, but I'm beyond pissed right now. He also but a huge crack in my m1916 stahlhelm while I was away too, but had that shipped to me.

The only one he was actually able to get into was my Type 38 and I had separated the ammo from all my guns into a separate safe. I also had removed the bolts from all my milsurp rifles too and threw them in a locked ammo can. I don't have a whole lot of details right now because I just now found out what happened. I'm really disappointed in him.
College student budget here.
Wanting a pistol safe for my house that I'm renting with friends. Just gonna sit under my room. I plan on bringing one of my rifles as well (Campus has a range, as well as a local range in town) so something with enough room to hold a full sized pistol as well a rifle bolt (Might as well keep the rifle safe in a way) And a box or two of ammo.
What are some good brands for electronic safes?

Alright. I was given a handgun by my father.
But i am only 19 years old.
In illinois you need to be 21 years old to own a handgun.
So the weapon is in my fathers name.
If i were to bring my handgun to a range without my father or anyone over the age of 21, would the range have a problem with this?

Why does /k/ have more than one of each type of weapon? What makes you want to collect more than one of each of the following:
Carry pistol
Full-size sidearm
Carbine/Assault rifle/Intermediate cartridge thingy
Battle rifle
Bolt rifle with good optic
Shotgun
Plinker
I love guns, but I don't understand why you'd have more than the best of each of these you could afford. Maybe an investment with a plan to sell? Maybe as an armory to make sure your friends have something in case of SHTF? Why?

First, because if you understand what you are dealing with, you'll know that there is no such thing as "the best gun in its class." Everything is a compromise, and there are always going to be guns that are about the same as your gun, but does something better than your gun does.

So. I'm a 20 year old. Turning 21 soon, looking at handguns. I'm planning on carrying some sort of polymer sub $400 compact (fns-c, m&p C, glock 26, PPS, etc) but I want a "range/tactical" 9mm. I know how you're using *shit to just describe where the gun was made, but Sphinx are such fantastic guns made to very high standards, so it's kind of insulting to use shit to describe them.

That's about what they go for, especially if it was an older one. More common price is going to be in the low $500's for the .40 and the .45 - not the 9mm, those go for about $150 more.

Compound bow vs. recurve bow which is the true king of archery.

Kind of depends. Recurved works great for some types of shots but compound bows are better for precise shots since they're easier to hold at full draw.
Compound bow is more effective.
That said, bows are not used in such a harsh way today, that it really matters.
Its really whatever. Your main limitation is draw weight for hunting, or accuracy for target shooting anyhow.

Stop what you're doing and watch this video, before you make any of the wrong decisions or buy into the hype that is modern archery. Lars Andersen has studied the actual historical texts that warrior archers learned from, and compiled a style created from accurate, practicality driven teachings. Modern archers will want to load you up with all kinds of compounds bows, sights, quivers, carbon fiber arrows, etc. These are all generic consumer products that will not actually help you grow as an archer, rather hinder you by building bad habits and reliance on them.
Seriously, don't fall into the modern myths of archery, the study is changing and Lars is leading the way, following him is following thousands of years of far more effective archers than we can hope to become today.
