How does this make /k/ feel?
Anyone here that actually earned a bronze star care.
>>29769104
Okay the comment about how the medal should only reward those in combat makes me really sad that people really do think the majority of the military is just jarheads.

I'm starting to wonder if Obama is secretly pro-gun. That or the antis have fully horse shoe effected themselves.

Once police use it and have data to show it "works" we're next....
....you Really believed what you just said?
There isn't a "smart gun" one the market that is in 9mm or .40sw.
>>29769065
There isn't a chance in hell LEOs go with this.
I was just watching this documentary on Gulf War v1:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fegFGllS3w8&feature=youtu.be&t=12m56s
It's a pretty interesting program even with the shit animations. It did make me question
I know the vast majority of a2a kills in the First Gulf War were beyond visual range. 75% or so If i recall. Still, in the program you see the F-15 pilots give testimony where they hesitated to fire missiles and instead preferred to get closer to the enemy to positively ID them as hostile.
Was radar ID really that bad in 1990?...

>Was radar ID really that bad in 1990? What has changed since then?
Yes.
IFF has gotten a lot better.
>>29769039
What stops enemies from using our IFF to designate targets?
I'd assume its on a small identifying band, but to be received by friendly receivers it still needs to be a relatively strong signal
>>29769061
IFF gets recoded in the battlefield, at least thats what they told us during Stinger school where the unit can detect current and old IFF.
Give me some talking points to discuss, also what was the anti gun bill that was illegally forced through.? Pic unrelated.
>>29769019
>illegally forced through
It was the Hughes Amendment to the Firearm Owners Protection Act.

Is overkill even a real term in warfare?
This was an annoying sniper, they used a 6 foot missle to end him.
>>29768962
Cheaper than a human bean
>>29768962
Yes.
While using a missile or small bomb to take out a the sniper in your pic would be considered enough for such a mission, a 2,000lb bomb would be considered a waste of resources.
>>29768962
He was an HVT. If he was killing men or halting a key movement for any longer than deemed acceptable, a missile is a simple way to save time and bodies.
Has anyone here tried launching explosives from one of these?
ATF plz no kill dog.
>>29769012

That's exactly what the ATF would say.

They should be using their armored cars and machine gunners as highly mobile suppressive fire platforms. That machine gunner needs to actually stop spazzing out for three seconds and suppress the enemy.
The infantry in that truck need to fucking dismount and close and destroy the enemy. The gun trucks support the infantry advance, the infantry make sure things like RPGs are neutralized.
They need to dictate who the fuck is what. Who the machine gunner and assistant gunner are, who the anti-armor...

I'm curious, what are /k/'s thoughts on the Automag series of handguns?
snowflake cartridge to have identical capabilities to a revolver.
Theres a 44automag for sale near me, he wants $4200. Yet another barrier to their success.
I hear they are gonna rev up production again. I don't know if it's confirmed but in the Wiki it says they have plans to bring it back.
Fukken sexy.
I'd buy one if they accepted 44 mag or 10mm
What gun is this?
FAMAS
That's a bomblet.
steyr scout.
I've been lurking /k/ for a couple years now and have accumulated a lot of milsurp, but now want to move into capable modern rifles. I already have a 6601 Colt HBAR Match with the fixed A2 carry handle, but would like a shorter, optics ready carbine. I would like the following characteristics
>good for plinking out to 200 yards
>optic ready with a top rail
>durable for SHTF, even if a little accuracy is lost
>must be an HBAR due to MD lawComment too long. Click here to view the full text.
ar15s are all the same just grab one off the rack

>durable for SHTF
Stop doing this, please.
>>29768685
We both know that's not true
>>29768691
SHTF has already happened in MD with the AWB. No AK, no FAL, no M1A, etc. No idea if they will come for the HBAR's or not. Trying to buy something that will last for years and years in case HBAR's get banned too.
Anyway, is the twist rate good for light projectiles? I read they're good for heavy bullets. Also, is chrome worth it? Does it last a lot longer or cause a large decrease...

Alright /k/ikes, real question here.
What if we armed everyone person to the teeth (regardless of age) in unstable countries?
Hear me out. It would help stabilize and bring back at least some sort of law because there can't be a group of thugs to gain power because every house they walk in they just get shot. And then it gets to such a point where people don't want to steal or anything bad because everyone is locked and loaded.
Yes I know that there will be accidental deaths, children and women dying, and death for small crimes. But really, wouldn't all that bad stuff still be a lot less than the mess that is the civil wars in Africa and the Middle East?
Like everyone is distributed a 9mm and guns and bullets are constantly air dropped to make sure someone isn't hording them all. I mean absolutely flood the market. No group can make money from 'protection' or extortion or arm sales therefore no one can rise up and everyone lives in this iron fist socialism.

I like how you think but what would Ban Ki Moon say?

To bad the rest of society thinks from an emotional standpoint, rather than a logical one.
If we give them all Hi-Points we would be out $75 dallar as a nation. We could fix the worlds problems and cut the military. I love you OP.

PENIS HELMETS!
The greatest plane ever built. The coolest plane ever built. The closest piece of technology that mankind has ever built which captures the Spirit of a Dragon. I see a squadron of F-22’s fly over and I am impressed, I see one of these and my Soul is awed. Jet fighters et al are something else but this is SOMETHING ELSE.
There is no close contender for second after this plane, except, by virtue of Operation Chastise being an Operation which was as close to impossible as it was possible to get, whilst succeeding, then the Avro Lancaster being the piece of equipment used...

It's not like they're going to be dim or functionally damaged right?
I paid $141 for my Trij HDs for my PPQ, so that seems like a good deal. "Open box dealer demo" could mean scratches, if that bothers you. Make sure the warranty is still intact before buying in case the sights were installed on a gun and had to be filed down, or were improperly hammered into the dovetail and a lamp broke.
