Ok so I belong to a range that allows for reactive targets. I want to build a collapsible target stand for an 8" AR500 steel gong to be hanged from. Ideas for something whose parts can be put in the trunk of a car? Goal is to have it hang two or so feet above the ground.

Six pieces of 2x4 24" long each. Make a box frame with four. Put eye bolts into it to hang your plate from.

Add the other two on either side using carriage bolts to allow them to swing out. Use a small length of light chain to keep the legs from going to far out. Shouldn't cost more than 15 bucks.

If you want higher just make the two sides of the box and legs longer.

I use these from my local hardware (ausfag so Bunnings)
they're $20 for 2 and they fold up to the side of a 2x4

Hello /k/. I'm an engineer in college and have a personal copy of Solidworks CAD software. If you could design an infantry rifle, what would it be chambered in and what would it be like?

Hello /k/ I was looking into buying my frist pistol. My price range is 400 and lower. What caught my eye was a Ruger SR9E. What would you recommend /k/

>What caught my eye was a Ruger SR9E

I would stay away from the cheaper guns like ruger's 9mms, s&w sdv's, caniks etc.

Lowest you should go is an m&p9 which can be had for $400 and even lower if trade ins crop up.
>>
>>29894310

Certified meh-tier striker gun.

Just save a few more dollars for an M&P or something.
>>
>>29894310
The 9E is a good pistol. Nothing fancy but it shoots well. Trigger is pretty decent. Only comes with 1 magazine though.

The S&W SD9VE is another option for around $300, although I've heard the trigger kind of sucks. Can be fixed with an apex trigger kit, same as the M&P pistols I believe.

Another popular budget gun is the Canik TP9. It's made in Turkey, which some people don't like. But it seems to work fine and is well liked by those who buy it. Also comes with more in the way of extras than most budget pistols.

Last one I can think of off the top of my head is the Walther PPX, they're available for about $300 at the CDNN Sports website. They didn't sell well and they're trying to sell off the rest of their stock at a low price. Good deal for the price. A little large and not the best looking, but the looks grow on you. The trigger is also very nice.

There's a Remington model 10 at a shop near me going for about $239.
Is that a good deal? I'm not too familiar with it.

>>29894265
I hear they are complicated as shit. But 239 is a good deal
>>
>>29894265
If it's in good shape, hell yes it is.
>>
>>29894265

Fair price, but be aware they are a rather complex action with scant parts availability.

I'm having a problem with my PPS43 /k/. The front sight is too far left and I need to drift it (who the fuck does "factory" sight in? A Cyclops?). My issue is that no matter how hard I whack the drum, it won't budge. I've tried using WD 40 breakup formula on it overnight and still nothing.

How do you guys get your sights to move? Unfortunately there is no tool available for windage on this gun, so I'm stuck drifting this shit.

>>
I should also mention I need to do this on a few pistols too. Is there any way you goys stabilize your guns before a pounding, or do you just lay them on something padded and give them a few whacks?
>>
One last hope bump before you slide into the dark, dank abyss of 4chan...
>>
>>29894045
I've had a couple AKs where the sight drum was nigh unmovable, what I did was:
>try, and fail, to adjust it with sight tool, say fuck it and shoot it with kentucky windage anyway
>hit it with some really good thin penetrating lubricant when i got home, i really like LPS LTS for this purpose, give it time to penetrate, I left it overnight
>still couldn't get it to budge so i made cheater handles for my sight tool (extensions for the handle so you can get more leverage) and finally got it to break loose
>if you still can't get it at this stage you can try switching between heating and freezing it while adding lube occasionally and attempting to break it loose when hot/cold
I assume the PPS43 uses a drift sight though? But the same principles should apply, if you need a heavier hammer, you need a heavier hammer. It would be handy to either block it up on some scrap wood with clamps or secure it in a vise however you feel appropriate in order to wail on it. I think I ended up blocking up my VZ in order to change the hand guard because the roll pin was so thoroughly seized in place.
Might be worth it to see if you can safely finagle an AK/SKS sight tool on it. For what it's worth, there are fixtures out there made specifically for drifting sights, sort of the same basic concept as a bike chain tool.

>make kalash from shuvl

I wish this meme would die. You can, yes, make an AK receiver from any suitably sized piece of sheet metal of appropriate thickness, but to do so, you also need, yanno, literally every other piece of the fucking AKM.

doing an AK parts build requires a parts kit, and generally a new barrel, so you're still looking at buying ~400 in commie surplus before you start hammering shovels.

How did these two cops armed only with handguns do tactically against this criminal with a rifle?

https://youtu.be/o4uAT12deGs?t=6m16s

Obviously they won by virtue of killing the shooter but both cops got shot. How could they have avoided it?

Could have avoided it by not being cops.
>>
Awful: they got too close, didn't position themselves with crossfire avoidance, freaked out and scattered when shit went down, didn't remain calm

Has anyone ever bought anything from them? I want to buy a Thompson replica from them (I live in a shit state where they're illegal and I'll never have enough money to move and get one) and I'm curious what kind of quality I can expect for $250. Link is to the item

Any 380 ACP pocket pistol.
I would recommend the LCP, it is the cheapest most reliable one.

How prevalent is the practice of infantry riding tanks today?
15 posts and 4 images submitted.
>>
Not very unless you're in some balkanshit army
>>
>>29893434
In a shithole that has way more infantry than vehicles? Decently common.

For the rest of us we have vehicles meant to actually carry troops inside.
>>
>>29893434
Not very. For the most part, the infantry rides in their own vehicles. There are procedures to do so, but they are specifically stated as something you should avoid.

Why are Switchblade knives illegal in a handful of the States, but fully-automatic handguns (Mac-11, etc) are only tightly regulated?

Because the traitorous Reagan administration made it so only pre-1986 full auto weapons could be acquired legally acquired by civilians and only a limited supply of them.

They're only illegal in certain states
