what are /k/'s opinions and experience about the Ruger American series of rifles? I got to finger fuck both a .22LR and a .308 rifles. both with threaded barrels. I'm really thinking about getting the .22LR.

I know a guy who has one, he likes it. If you're in the market for a bolt .22 ID go with that, especially if you already have a 10/22 since they can share mags. I'm kinda tempted to get one since half of my .22 is remshit I was gifted that is useless in either of my semi's. Of course a threaded barrel out of the box is a big plus.
I'd go for the .22, but for the .308 I've played with savages more so I would probably go with one of theirs. That could easily just be bias on my part though.

Some gy walked right up to me asked did I know what time it was. I looked at my phone and next thing I knew I had a gun in my face. I was surprised, and took a step back. He demanded my wallet AND my cell phone. I had my gun in my pocket, but I didn't pull it out. I ended up giving him my credit card and fake PIN number as well as my cellphone. I feel like a complete little bitch. I should have taken out my gun and shot him when he was walking away, but I was too startled to think straight....

I wouldn't want to shoot a kid for sneaking into my living room and bagging my TV but I would have less issue with someone directly threatening me. so I'm 19 my father was a navy seal (serious) on seal team 6 for 7 years.. he's only taken me shooting once with his 9mm and 22.. what things should I ask him to teach me? I really want my own firearm but I think he wouldn't want to do that. I can legally own a handgun without permit here in Texas so that's not an issue
