This is one of those videos that you just know was filmed in Russia. Like that one where they kill a pig with a sink.

Everyone there was probably drunk to different degrees.
Are nuclear aircraft carriers going to be completely outclassed by something like mixed-armament battleships were done in by Dreadnoughts?
Will it be something simple like a missile? Some new class of aircraft? Space weapons? A fucking virus?
In 2016, I can't believe that so much of our naval fighting strength rests within such juicy friggin' targets.
BILLIONS of dollars, thousands of sailors, and dozens of high-performance aircraft.
Something just doesn't seem right about this when I think about current and projected levels of technology.
Am...

Bump. No one up for a carrier discussion?
Only ship that could make a carrier obsolete is a space carrier.
>>30447224
whatever makes careers obsolete will have to be a force projection platform of some other design. maybe a giant unmanned drone carrier floating in the sky or a new class of transports, possibly hypersonic.
in a hundred years it might be a space station with rapid response teams ready to drop back to earth.
short answer is no, probably not in our lifetime. carriers work too well and have become the literal centerpiece of too much military doctrine to go away quickly.
Wait, is it even allowed? Cool anyway.

Friend of mine dug up his grandfather's guns he brought back ww2, and I need help identifying this gun
>>30446623
Looks like an air rifle that i've seen that you can swap some parts out and it becomes a real .22lr rifle
>when your grandfather is the only guy who took a child's toy as a capture

Anyone have any news on good deals for the upcoming holiday? Can be for guns, ammo, etc.
Also, have any of you had any experience with Huldra AR's? Fleet Farm has Mark IV 5.56 Mid Tactical Elite rifles half off for $719 for the 4th and I was wondering if they were any good. I'm new to AR's so any tips or insights are much appreciated. Pic related.
I wouldn't considering purchasing a piston-based AR-15 for your first rifle. You can't go wrong with BCM, LMT, or Colt (6020, 6940, or AR15A4). Yes, there are a lot of other great manufacturers out there, but if you're looking for a basic starting rifle around that price these brands are what I'd recommend.

No insight on those rifles. But I do know that my department started issuing Ruger556 rifles. They are at a price point of 550-600 for a gun that hasflip up rear, a frame front, and military spec rifle.
Its about the cheapest I would go. Groups were within a half dollar using iron only at 30m for me from the knee using american eagle .223 ammunition during qualifications.
Good luck with your search. If you want good deals on ammo, subscribe to freedom munitions mailing list. I get 20-50% ammo notifications...

>Also, have any of you had any experience with Huldra AR's?
My co-worker has one (pic relate) and enjoys it. He actually just bought another Huldra upper. I've fired it, and I preferred it over my friend's DI rifle.
I'm currently in the process of building an AR myself. I will be working off a Huldra lower, but /arg/ convinced me that standard D.I. gas system would be better for my first build.
I have an AK already, so it's not like I need...

I’m looking to add a weapon light on to my AR-15 and have been looking at momentary only INFORCE light.
They seem popular but a few YouTube reviews claim that the polymer housing has a tendency to split easily. I have no interest in using a corded pressure pad so I’ve come to /k/ to ask if anyone has had this problem and if there is a similar alternative to INFORCE.
i Had one of those on my MSAR. At nuggerfest I shot at least 1k rounds almost non-stop through it and the vibrations caused the light to fall off. Then once remounted I shot at least 300 more rounds and somehow that caused the thing to break in general. The end cap on the screw fell off and there was no way to remove it, the light its self inside it broke and no matter what battery i put in there none would work. Its a arguable a hu nk of junk. Go with something expensive like a TR1 or 5 or some shit.
I wish they weren't such shit because I love the design.
there was another issue with the monetary only wml. apparently the battery would get drained even when not in use. WMl's response to the issue? they put out a statement saying users should unscrew the head and rescrew when you need to use the light...ok....
but this was a few years ago, hopefully they fixed whatever the issue was.
personally, i would just use a push button surefire
Found this lil guy up in the attic.
Can you ID it?
What could I improve?

Just mount something that will secure it in place, why does this gimmicky shit keep coming up lately?

How would /k/ defeat the world's most fearsome fighting team in close combat? Keep in mind, they're heroes in a half-shell, and they're green.

There is no reason for this shit to exist, apart from tricking retards out of thousands of dollars
Why did they call it the Hi-power when it shoots a less powerful round than the 911?

Artillery v. Tanks, who wins?
Let's say 500 v 500 on a plains.
Go have ADHD somewhere else.
artillery has superior range & firepower

How far apart?
Do the tanks know where the arty is before they fire the first salvo?
Ivan and comrad found nice Mosin Nagant at guns markt.
