Okay, someone I know is having buyers remorse about this pistol. The S&W 380 Bodyguard.
Here's the thing: I don't think it's a bad pistol.
But this is her response about it:

Which, my response is 'okay', but now what do we do with this thing? Keep it? Should I be trying to find classes or something for her to take on how to operate a semi-auto pistol? Because this was her first magazine-fed pistol.
She originally wanted it because of the built-in laser, is there a similar pistol that has easier operation at a similar price point?

Should have got the safetyless version. Simple as fuck double action only. Absolutely no need for a manual safety.

that is the regret along with the manual safety, not on the gun but on those two specific "features".
If I were her, I would sell it at a loss and do the following.

Yeah, it was probably my fault to begin with or not recommending her returning it sooner. It's been several months now in a shoebox because she wants nothing to do with it.
As an example, I had to explain to her the difference between .38 and .380, as she bought no ammo for the thing; thinking that she had plenty of .38 at home. (Special, at that)
I suppose though, if we had to return it at this point at a loss. Would it be worth buying another? Or should we be in the market for a shield or something like that?

Every single female needs to lay the fuck off the lotion. Those slides aren't hard to cycle at all. If she can hold a gallon of milk by the handle for 2 fucking seconds, she can rack the slide on a .380 Bodyguard. Just give the goddamn revolver.

I'm an engineering student, this summer I'm taking 1 class so I've got spare time.
Teaching myself solidworks, came up with this as a good project
its a foldable stock for a 1911 to make it into an SBR, it folds into a frame for the holster
Yes, I know SBRs are illegal unless you have a class 2 or 3
This is just a project for design, I'm probably never going to build one
Does this look like a cool design? Would you want one if it was legal?

Been shooting rifles for 4 yeas now and finally want a handgun.
I wanna just focus on one handgun to train for now. (I may get a 22lr slide for it though eventually)
Would pic related be a good choice? I live in a state where mag cap is 15 rounds.
I have a 9mm carbine.
Would this be an okay choice for someone with slightly smallish hands.
My price limit is probably 800 dollars max. Prefer to stay in the 600 range.

I think I went backwards on the /k/ progression scale. I got a bunch of cool, obscure shit then worked my way to more common stuff. It just hit me that I don't have a fullsize 9mm pistol. Now I need one with the 4th almost here.

I'm not that into modern guns, but I, like you, started with the weird shit then worked my way to modern(ish)
Having said that, one of the various versions of Hi-Powers would be cool, modern enough to be useful but old enough to still be cool. Failing that there's a handful of CZs and Sigs I'd look at, but really there's too many options for a fullsize 9mm to give you a recommendation without knowing more about what you want. I'm sure many anons will recommend Glocks, and those are just fine, but I think we need a little more info on your tastes. Do you want metal frame, polymer frame, striker fired or DA/SA? Old or new design? Help us help you

Hey /k/, I'm currently looking at purchasing my first handgun. I'm leaning towards a handgun, preferably 9mm. I've been interested in the Lionheart LH9N, the CZ 75, and the Glock 17. But I figured I'd ask before purchasing.
Decide if you want hammer fired or striker fired before choosing particular pistols. I went hammer before (da/sa) and ended up switching to striker fired.
Personally, I'd choose wither a m&p9 or g17 based upon which grip angle points more naturally for you.

I love my CZ 75. I like the DA/SA option. I like all metal frames. Its a personal opinion but I am just not a huge fan of polymer pistols. Best advice I can give is try the ones you want out on the range and go with the one that feels the best in your hand and you're the most accurate with.

If you don't mind funding the roaches, they(Canik) make a mean CZ clone and also a bit of a glock spinoff called the tp9.
Hey guys, so I'm pretty new to firearms. I've pretty much only had experience with pistols before recently. However, I saved up and finally bought a rifle. Arsenal SLR-104 whoohoo.
So here's the issue. Generally I've only ever bought ammunition on an ad hoc basis. I wanna shoot, I go to the range buy soemthing rounds and have fun. However, I've moved out of the city and have enough property now to shoot regularly. So where do you buy ammunition in bulk? I can barely find brick and mortar stores that stock 5.45×39, let alone 500 to 1000 rounds.

As for ammo, SGAmmo is a good place I suppose. I recently got 1,000 7.62x39 rounds from them and they hadn't jacked up their prices in light of the mass murder in Orlando, so I guess they're alright. Just beware they charge for shipping so your cost per round will come up a bit. Can't help you with the question about magazines as I only own an SKS.
