I'm a bit out of practice.
COM group was done with a range rental Beretta 92 whose trigger kept failing to reset on the first try in SA. It also hit me in the face with ejected brass three times in 50 rounds.
Head shots were done with a Gen 4 Glock 17.
50 rounds in each group, both done very fast--well, as fast as they'd let me shoot at this indoor range, 2-3 rounds per second--at 21 feet, 7 yards.
I try to stage the Beretta's DA trigger, and try to hold it so that as the trigger pivots back in DA, my right index fingertip will touch...

I was shooting better than ever before yesterday. 3-4 inch groups at 7 yards with my Glock 19. largest group was 5.5 when I was doing rapid fire. I usually shoot 5-7 inches.

Some people say that knowing how to "run" a DA/SA pistol, how to stage a DA trigger, how to "run" a revolver, are obsolete skills. I am personally of the opinion that these weapons are still so common that it's appropriate to know how to use them, even if my preferences run to single-action-only or striker-fired semiautos.

Bought one for my P226 as a lefty.
It works, It's the Gen 2 leather/kydex and it's pretty comfy to carry appendix or 7 o'clock, but my belt at the time sucked ass and was worn out.

Civilian ownership of firearms is restricted to shotguns either naturally or permanently modified so they can only fire a maximum of 2 shells. Self-loading shotguns are illegal.

All shooting must be done on an actual, administered range. Hunting is illegal for the majority of the populace (certain remote villages in the north get special dispensation to hunt but must still abide the firearms ownership laws, certification is convoluted...

You don't need a license to build your own guns. It's 100% legal.

Hey /k/. I recently got my first decently paying job and moved from California to Arizona. I'm thinking about taking advantage of the greater freedom here to purchase my first gun. I've fired .22s in the Boy Scouts and enjoyed it immensely,even getting the merit badge, but know very little about specific firearms.
I'm looking for three basic requirements here:

You can't go wrong with a 1911. You can get a good one from Ruger, Springfield for under $800, and from what I've heard RIA has pretty good budget 1911's too at around $500. .45 will get the job done, but it's a little more expensive than 9mm, and if you want something with more mag capacity and cheaper to buy and shoot you can go with a glock 17 or 19 in 9mm.

Depends on how they're stored. Most ammo manufacturers recommend that you don't store ammo for more than a year, but if it's stored in a good moisture free area then theoretically it can be stored indefinitely. I've shot ammo stored for more than 20 years out of my dad's safe before and all but 2 rounds fired just fine. So really the answer is it depends, but it's always worth trying to shoot as long as it's not visibly damaged in any way. Hope that helped OP.
Everything expires given the correct time and circumstances.
Properly stored, ammo will generally last longer than you'll live. Leave it underwater and it will become useless pretty quickly.

During the end of my sophomore year and engineering uni I was "appoached" by a US naval recruiter trying to get naval engineering officers. I Was incredibly interested in the dive engineering program so I signed up as possible enlistment or whatever. I sold my M2 that I bought after they had stopped making the M1 for a while and before the VP9 came out. Now I'm torn between picking up a VP9, a PPQ .45, or a P226.
It's okay, but I did sell it after getting a Glock 19 and realizing that I preferred the Glock over the PPQ but that is all preference and ymmv.
I have 3 of them. great guns. if you want a 9mm or 40 get the M1. Unfortunately you dont have a choice with 22 or 45
