Whelp, should i go ahead and get pic related? i found one for 250.
I was leaning towards the ruger american until i did a bit of reading and people seem to swear by the fvsr. is the standard mark ii with a 21 inch barrel more accurate?
im leaning towards savage, but im open to any suggestions. i dont know anything about cz, and i dont particularly want to spend that kinda money, but im sure i could be talked into it.
ive got an xt22 that i like, but im gonna leave it as my nonscoped plinker because the barrel is slightly canted and im too lazy to send it...

I own both but only shoot the ruger. the savage is as a rifle is really nice, no real complaints there (aside from it not having irons but what ever). how ever the mags are pure shit. I went through about half a dozen and they all did the same thing. they were fine for about 100 rounds then they would start to spit all the rounds out about half way through loading. I would have to take pliers and bend the lips of the mag and go from there...on every mag....every 100 rounds or so. so in the trash it goes.
the ruger? no complaints other then bx-25s will having trouble...

If you've read up on the FVSR you know that a lot of people complain about the stocks being flimsy and replace them with the boyds tacticool one. It's $100 more to do so which kinda negates the price. If you're going to spend that kind of money the CZ would be the better choice. Buy once cry once for a rifle you'll likely keep for life.
If you still want something cheap though the Ruger American Rimfire is an option and is going to be nicer out of the box than the Savage. I'd say poke around rimfire central for advice but it seems to be down at the moment.

So I took some noobs out shooting today and now I'm back home cleaning my funs.
I've only ever field stripped to clean my cz, but I was wondering if I should fully disassemble the gun to clean it?
I'd rather not, if I don't need to, as I'm afraid I won't be able to reassemble it correctly.
Can anyone give advice?

I only detail strip my guns when I first bought them so I can spray down the parts with preservatives and reassemble them.
After that, I only field strip them.

Got some awesome "Team Soldier" multicam BDU's at a local store, $25 for a set in good condition. The pants look pretty good with a grey or black v-neck tshirt - how acceptable is camo in public? No markings or patches on anything.

I recently got a Martini Henry and after cleaning it thoroughly with soapy water I noticed a few weeks later it had rust in the bore. What can I use to coat the bore to prevent this?

Does /k/ have any good military lectures?
Hello fellow aspirants. I'm wanting to be a Royal Marines officer and need to be fit to pass the POC in approximately a year's time. I'm more or less sedentary currently although I do the occasional one mile jog or pullups in the door frame if I'm bored.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed about how to go about training/setting up a routine, any suggestions?
A friend of mine was recently playing around with his CZ's and swapping out the slides and frames, so I decided to do the same with my Hebrew Hammers. What other guns can do this?
I desperately want to see a Jericho 941 slide on a Tanfoglio TZ88 frame now.

I live in the People's Republic of Chicago where there's this awesome AWB in effect. We basically can't own anything more than an SKS. However the state has pre-emption on everything pistol related, so of course that makes me want an AR MOTHERFUCKING PISTOL.
I have no idea about AR pistols, could you educate me? What makes them different from AR-15s, and what parts should I get? Will the ATF anally penetrate me if I shoulder the buffer tube at my local range?
Do you have assault pistol restrictions? Because an AR pistol will be over 50oz.

Entirely up to you. That's the best part about building your own AR. You can build it how you want.

Technically Chicago does include AR pistols on their AWB list, yes, but the state has pre-emption which invalidates all local restrictions. There has been no trial in court testing it but if I were to be the one forcing a judicial decision with the aid of an NRA probono lawyer, so be it. The state pre-emption would clearly win.
