Alright /k/ommados, Canuck looking to buy my first gun need some advice.
I'll be receiving my Non-Restricted license in the mail within the coming weeks.
I've got about a thousand saved up. Also I really dislike the SKS rifles so please don't suggest that.
I'm into WWI and WWII era rifles, I originally wanted to buy an M1 Garand
however the prices here are pretty steep (1500- 2000$) and I also heard there can be some timing issues if you don't fire M2 ball ammunition.
My second choice was the Mosin Nagant cause it's pretty cheap...

Given your criteria and price range I definitely think an SKS would be best for you.

Can you read?
General discussion on WW2
Germans lost because they made huge strategic clunders and didn't have the logistics to cover for their strategic blunders.
Instead of wunderwaffens. They needed tens of thousands of more off road heavy trucks. The Gewehr 43 instead of SMGs, STG44.
I cry every night when I'm reminded that there are no airworthy Stukas and that there are only a few airworthy ju -52s.
new ww2 game when?

Clean your guns?
I just keep mine lubed
with corrosive ammo yes
pure fucking science, the boiling water transfers heat to the barrel which serves to boil off any liquid water left behind
I-is that an SVD anon?
Did i fuck up senpai?

just another example of century quality!
>>28274762
Lol, and people actually said that Century had changed.
But why do people who own the Cetme/G3 style rifles always blab about its history? I can't say I've seen it happen much with other guns, but you give a one of these guys the chance and they'll talk your ear off about the history of their damn gun.
>>28274831
They want to make sure you know they didn't buy some piece of shit and that it's a copy of a gun that has been in many conflicts around the world.

Second string rifle, with a third rate history, by a shamefur company
Just turned 18, already bought the mosin, but I need a shotgun now for duck hunting and home defense. I'm looking for a pump, don't want to deal with a semi just yet. What's the best pump 12 gauge for under 500 bucks?

I'm sorry, but WHERE THE FUCK ARE THE B-WINGS? Why is it only X-Wings and basic TIE Fighters?
It makes perfect sense that the Y-Wings are gone. I can understand the Resistance upgrading and possibly even continuing production of the X-wing. But no B-Wings or A-Wings? What reason would they have had to not diversify their fleet? You'd think that A-Wings would be needed to run interference, and the B-Wings could have been pounding ground defenses.
Looks like Disney really is only interested in hitting all the "nostalgia" buttons and not actually...

Because it was a rag tag group behind enemy lines.
They could get what they could get from the republic. Obviously just X-wings.
>>28274587
Did you miss /tv/ or something?
To answer your question though,
Yes, and George Lucas was the same.
>>28274612
So why is the First Order only running basic TIE fighters? Where are any of the literal dozens of variants on the TIE? I figured there'd be at least Interceptors and Bombers.
Hi, /k/. Writefag here. I have some background in sailing and I like reading about naval history, so I want to write about a post-apocalyptic naval battle.
I'm trying to work out how I might want to make a certain tactical paradigm happen. I really find the battlecruiser action at Jutland interesting and would like to emulate some of those dreadnought-era tactics. However, I also want room for ramming, boarding, and general swashbuckling.
One thing I was thinking was having the ships in the vein of 16th century war galleys, but with crude steam engines replacing...

Read up on WWII PT boats. They were pretty much the epitome of that speedboat idea, only well-equipped and supplied. Regarding the steamships, perhaps a good idea would be to have hulks of older vessels that have been refurbished, like the tanker in Waterworld. (Which I would recommend watching if you want to get some ideas regarding the aesthetics and engineering of post-apocalyptic ships.)
>>28274585
I was imagining two lines of warships, one of rusty pre war ships with men firing battered RPGs at their opposites and the other of retro ironclads passing each other in the dying light, with the only illumination being the fires raging on the decks of wounded ships. Every so often, a ship slows to a crawl and drifts out of formation, belching fire from its hatches as it is consumed.

I was skeptical at first, but I'm starting to dig this idea.
Found this pin on the ground. Could someone translate plz?

Дa, этo плoхaя пoддeлкa.
Honestly, is 35¢ a round of 7.62x39 brass cased ammo too high?
it sort of is.
you could justify it if you needed stripper clips and you reload.
>>28274413
It's corrosive non-reloadable (berdan).
But it is good ammo if you don't mind those two points.
It's fucking great ammo and the clips are actually worth a fuck. I've been meaning to get some but I've not got around to it. I mainly just need the damn clips.
hey /k/. i am working on a apocalypse survival guide and would greatly appreciate your help.
as of right now, i have completed the nuclear disaster chapter, i still need help with the following topics:
-anarchy, riot
-vulcanoe eruption
-earthquakes
-conventional war
-hurricane
-flood
-alien invasion
-meteor impact
-surviving in a lawless "society"
-surviving in rural areas
-bugout bag advise
thanks
With anarchy and riots you should do some research about 'gray man tactics' and 'get home bags' then have a subsection where you go over the pros/cons of gray man vs tactical vest or Truck gun open carry as a deterrent. Your opinion on either of these topics should be explained as well as countered.
Lawless society, once again refer to gray man vs full kit. It'll depend if they are habiting a stable location, if they have a group or if they are solo. Patrols vs turtle defense.
>>28274467
can you go into more detail?
>>28274404
I would like to help. Do you have an email or way I can contact you? I could type some things up for you and answer questions.
Bullpup Unlimited conversion kit. Yay? Nay? Gimmick? What say you...
>>28274392
I usually don't like bullpups but for shotguns, it just makes sense, you know?
I like the placement of the selector...very AR15 ish
>>28274392
i think go for it, you don't like it you can always switch the gun back
Does Armslist sell fast? I posted an 870 on it for $300 and I deadly need the cash to back to college. Pic related.
>>28274276
You are fucking pathetic.
>Selling guns for any reason.
Bootstraps up fucker.
>>28274304
If I was a trust fund kiddy like half my "friends" I wouldn't even consider it. This is a last resort of last resorts. I literally don't even have money to get from the airport back to my dorm, or to feed myself, or to do pretty much anything.
Plus, I want an older 870 anyways.
>>28274276
>an 870 on it for $300
I'm in California and private sale 870s go for like 250 brand new, even here.
Here is my PVC howitzer, it is a combustion propelled Potato gun with a barrel-through design and it does have a breach for breach loading. The gun is mounted on a turret assembly and a wheeled base. Everything is designed to be taken apart for storage and to be taken apart for upgrades. The barrel diameter is 2" and the total barrel length is 6'. The barrel and combustion chamber design is the only one I've ever seen where the barrel run through the combustion chamber for simple breach loading, How the potato is propelled from the combustion is by a bunch of...
