So my question is this, I'm thinking of joining the military, and to be clear, I am not a pacifist. I am not against killing people under the right circumstances. It is my duty as a Christian to rid the world of evil. If you read the bible it is literally packed from cover to cover with hardcore men of war who fought, and died, for what they believed in. I am debating on if I should join as 11X or 03xx, or apply for a Chaplain position. My college did not offer an ROTC program, but I did all 4 years of JROTC and honor guard. I cannot seem to find much information on Chaplains in modern military service. I know they exist, but what do they do? I dont want to be locked in some administration building baptizing recruits newborn babies in a sink, or driving a desk, or being a glorified counselor. If I am in that position I would like to be in the shit with the men on the frontline, and again, I am not opposed to picking up a weapon. I am in good shape, and experienced with the AR platform already. Is there suck a thing as a "combat Chaplain" or something of that nature?

I was about to "upgrade" my factory sight on the PPS but before putting down some money I'm not sure if night sight are really necessary, useful or they just looks cool. If I was about to get mugged at night probably is going to be on a short distance and I wouldn't be able to aim down sight.
Are night sights really necessary?
I don't recommend the Meprolight Tru-Dots. The ones they make for the PPS are worse than stock in anything but pitch black. I'm have them on mine now, but I'm going to try Trijicon HD's next. The only complaint I've heard about them is they are sharp and bother some people that CC.

I'm about to get a Math AS at 24.
My original plan was to transfer to a uni, and finish up a mech engineering degree.
But now I have been considering joining the Navy or AF, ambition to get started in something compels me. I'm losing my patience being in school and want to start working something meaningful. After joining, I will take advantage of the GI bill and finish my degree, eventually.
What should i do? how does being on reserve work? does my associates degree mean anything in terms of pay or jobs/mos/rating?

One in every three states manages to maintain some sort of power/control, while the other two states go into total anarchy. Situation is only getting worse. There are good blacks as there are good whites, but you can't tell the difference, and you're too scared to take a chance in trusting someone you don't know might kill you. Highways and interstate are blocked up with traffic jams and every now and then mass shootouts on the roads. You're in one of the states (Whatever state you currently reside in, make sure to post) that has fallen into shambles. Where do you try to take refuge until order is possibly restored? What equipment (That you currently have) do you take with you? Who do you end up trusting? How will you survive? What's your strategy?

Uncle served in the navy in the 70s right after Vietnam. Grandpa served as an officer in the coast guard after he got out of college in the 50s.
I'm thinking about continuing the seafaring tradition myself in the coast guard.
My dad was an airplane mechanic. I'm assuming in Vietnam but I'm not sure. He doesn't talk much. He work(ed) as a car mechanic until he went to prison for CP I guess, I haven't been told much.
