What would it take to invade the US?
Say, if some disgruntled south- and central american countries wanted to try and fuck up the U S of A, what would be the realistic minimum requirements to put up a fight?
Would all of the american militaries, save for canada, be able to throw punches at the US, or would they need assistance from some country like russia?
How and where would the war happen, what tactics would be used, what would it take?

Nuclear armed countries don't get invaded.

All of the southron Americas, China, and Russia combined could not force the Rio Grande, even if nukes were magicked away by space elves.

> what is a thought experiment
We are assuming nukes aren't a factor, nigga
What went wrong?

The french thought that MBTs were obsolete due to ATGMs and attack helicopters and they could not justify the cost.
How is French armour generally regarded?
Are they decent tier, or pleb tier?

Recently from work im able to get a respectable discount on a beretta 92FS. Why do people hate this gun so much? It doesnt feel or look bad and even the heavy trigger can be replaced.

>Why do people hate this gun so much?
Do they? People keep telling me to get one
>Tried tonight
>LGS is sold out thanks to Paris, San Bern & Obama.

I have a 92A1 and love it. Don't listen to the haters, its a fine gun.
>>28500822
Because it's big, even for a full-size pistol it's a handful. So some people will inevitably complain. There's really nothing wrong with the gun. Get one OP, unless you're a small-handed little bitch.
Is it bad that war movies inspire me to enlist?
Propaganda doesn't bother me, I just want to do something meaningful in my life.

war isnt meaninful
you likely wont even be in combat and even if you are then you arent valuable or memorable, you are a soldier
you will get thanks once you get back and then no one will give a shit about your service until veterans day and you will be thanked just out of politeness that day only

So military is stupid regardless what way you look at it?

Arctic ice has receded enough that the northwest passage is open to shipping. Even with Russia's military resurgence and conflicting claims of sovereignty the Canadian Navy is essentially in disrepair.
NATO obligations aside, the US and Canada also dispute its sovereignty. So is America obliged to defend/patrol it?
>>28500222
No, their Canadian waters m8.
I have a little insight into this. During a residential school for a course i do i met a fellow who works for NATO in Norway. Basically he is part of the Royal Navy but works in some department that looks at future conflicts.
He told me this is going to be the next major one, there are already Chinese ships patrolling up there. Fact is this route is of huge economic importance being cheaper and quicker than the Suez canal. Everyone is going to want to control it so you can bet America will be there.

Didn't look at the image my bad, I'm talking about the passage north of Russia.
Good evening all,
I wanted to share my 20x102mm "destructive device" gun with the board, now that it is 100% completed. I made a post or two on here about it before when it was partially complete.
This is the second firearm I have have ever made that is 100% of my own design. While very simple, it is very large, and I think very well-constructed. I bought a barrel from an M61 vulcan gun off of gunbroker for $940 some time ago. I then submitted a Form 1 with the ATF to build a Title II "destructive device" gun, with the $200 tax paid of course. I built this thing up in about 3 or 4 month's worth of spare time in the gun shop. Everything was made from pieces of steel and tools bought off eBay. All the machinework was performed in a Grizzley G0509 lathe, and a G9901 mill. I suspect I have about $2500 total into this project, between the barrel, NFA tax, and tools. Not included in that figure is the ammo (not exactly cheap, or easy to find), or the tripod and T/E mechanism (which is borrowed from my semi 1919A4 rifle).
The N64 controller is the "remote control" to light off the gun. The cartridges use electric ignition, instead of percussion found in all small arms cartridges otherwise. It uses two CR123 volt batteries to feed a boost converter, that makes 300V DC that is stored in a flash photo capacitor. Pressing the L+R trigger buttons dumps that current into the primer.

Del Taco looked so bored and fat in this movie. I don't know if the script called for his character to be aloof or something.

Quick question.
I've already been through MEPS, took the ASVAB, already signed my contract with the Corps, etc.
But just how much poon will I get as a Marine?
I'm joining because it's something I've always wanted to do, the women are secondary to me, but is there a chance I'll do my 4+ years active duty and come out a virgin?

It's like the only peacetime I have ever known in America is being in the military stateside doing room inspections every other day.
P.S. In 4 years 1990 will be 30 years ago and 1980 will be 40 years ago.

I bought a Mosin in 2011. I don't entirely regret it since I also have like 1500 rounds for it, 300 of which came on stripper clips which you can't get anymore
Just wish the bolt wasn't so stiff. Tried all the tricks, thinking it might be the ammo. Haven't shot it in over a year since its no fun/not very accurate
