If lightsabers existed, would they be the most OP melee weapons ever made? Assuming there was no The Force and it was wielded by a normal person.

Practically weightless so even a child can wield it.
Because it has no blade weight, it can swing faster.
360 degrees of passive cutting so no strength or momentum needed.
Due to the 360 degrees of cutting, it opens up possibilities to different stances and angles.
Can cut through practically anything.
Can be turned on and off instantly making the parrying game against another lightsaber extremely risky.

Even if you don’t like Star Wars, the lightsaber is an interesting as fuck weapon.

>beam of light
Striking another beam of light from another light saber, it would simply pass thru it
Beam could be a mile long since no blade weight, cutting down everything in its way

lol ???

Only semi practical way a light saber could work is like the beam katana from No More heroes(atleast the base one with the extender that stops the beam.

I disagree about it being "perfect" but I don't see any major reason to replace it.
If it were me, I'd take all that heavy optics and shit off there and be much happier though.

do the american soilders use captured weapons?

Yeah, for OPFOR training exercises. It wouldn't be the best idea to try to establish a supply chain for a bunch of captured weapons unlesd you're in dire straits or will be planning on using local factories during ocupation.
>>
>>28521238

0/10 bait. That' not a captured RPG-7 that's a US made RPG-7 clone.

Only to learn to know how to use them.

There are various medal of honor and navy cross citations with our guys picking up combatant firearms because they ran out of ammo or their gun broke or some shit

In terms of relyablity the M1 Style action sucks cock, but in terms of handeling the M14 is the best out of the big 3 imo. The FAL is probably the most B A S E D of them and the PTR is just fucking everywhere

Best fighter of 20th century, when you consider the time period and service?
>great speed
>great avionics
>very maneuverable too
>great range
>great as a strike fighter, great at engaging targets BVR (in fucking 60's)
>spawned a reconnaissance and SEAD version which served successfully
>used by AF, used by navy, used by marines, used by shitload of countries
>two engines
>two seats

As maneuverable as a bus with jet engines
Did they even bother putting a gun on it, or did it have to have a pod too?
>>
>>28535283
From what I know it was capable of engaging NV MiG's in dogfights. So maneuverability wasn't bad. And yes, they did put a gun on it, but in Vietnam they used gun-pods.
>>
>>28535283
>As maneuverable as a bus with jet engines
It was far more maneuverable than people think, just not able to keep up with the lighter and more nimble MiG-17s in Vietnam.
>Did they even bother putting a gun on it, or did it have to have a pod too?
Depends on the version.

I'm looking to get a good "all-around" rifle for deer, long range shooting, possibly wild hog, and anything else you'd want a big dangerous black rifle for.

What's the most economical choice for a beginner? I've narrowed it down to a DSA FAL, ar10, and CETME sporter. That's in decreasing price point.

Which of these platforms is the best performer for the price? Anything I need to look for when buying one of these? Any other viable candidates I forgot?
56 posts and 16 images submitted.
>>
Oh yeah, and which ar10 builds or manufacturers are the best?
>>
>>28534265
If you get a well built CETME they'll be just as good as the G3. The CETME only differes in terms of the sights and magazines. Other than that it's just a Spaniard G3. But technically speaking the G3 is a CETME clone.

A lot of gun youtubers and magazines have given the new Century Arms C308 good reviews, but /k/ still believes in the Century meme, so I would take what most of the guys say about the C308 on here with a grain of salt. Handle one for yourself and see if you like it.

>Talking to two fudds
>One of them mentions "silencers"
>"Why would anyone need a silencer? The only point of one is to kill someone without anyone hearing the shot"
>I ask him wouldn't you like to hunt without ear protection?
>he starts laughing
>You can't hunt with a silencer, it slows the bullet too much
>I tell him that he is wrong
>yeah a silencer works by dissipating the sound by friction making the bullet slower, that's why silencers have holes because they heat a lot
>I show him actual data on my phone, bullet speed using a suppressor vs no suppressor.
>Fudd 2 replies: It might not lose speed but the bullet will have less kick, you can't kill an animal with a weak bullet

At that point I just gave up, have in mind that these two people were self proclaimed "hunter experts" and "gun enthusiasts"(in a fudd way).

What should I tell them next time? How to reason with this kind of people.

Is this true? Can anyone confirm this? NATO country that has more tanks and planes than Poland or Germany, signs the arms deal with Russia. What kind of military alliance is that?

We never talk about the political component of NATO. But one of the strongest NATO members right now run buy Putin-sympathisers.
