Can I join the military with pilonidal cysts? I'm about to apply for the USCG and Naval academies, but I have these butt cysts.

Yes, if evidenced by the presence of a tumor mass or a discharging sinus. History of pilonidal cystectomy within 6 months before examination is disqualifying.

Forward Assists....Are they needed for your go-to gun?

My personal opinion is that you will likely never need it and it should be your last option. However, there is the possibility that your gun may get fouled enough to require it or you have to run some shit ammo, in which case it might save your life. It's a must.

I agree.

I prefer to cycle the action manually.
The forward assist can induce worse problems.

im not sure where all this foward assist hate comes from on /k/. ive used it many a time with a very dirty rifle when it wouldnt want to fully go into battery. it works

http://www.defensenews.com/story/defense/air-space/strike/2016/01/16/despite-pressures-china-taiwan-might-procure-harriers/78733284/

Taiwan has a special need to STOVL aircraft as their runways would likely be bombed by China very quickly if war broke out:

>The AV-8 would fulfill Taiwan’s much-needed vertical and/or short takeoff and landing (V/STOL) requirement. China is expected to destroy Taiwan’s air bases within the first few hours of a war with its estimated 1,400 short-range ballistic missile arsenal and the Harrier’s V/STOL capability will allow the Taiwan air force to maintain air operations by hiding the aircraft in the mountainous interior.

However, many Taiwanese officials would rather hold out for the F-35B instead:

>The spokesman’s office of Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) said the Air Force wants the best operational advantage and will want advanced fighters with supersonic, STOVL, stealth, and beyond-visual-range capabilities. Though in the past, the AV-8 was considered an option, “this kind of aircraft is outdated and its performance and capabilities fail to meet future operational requirements.”

Jesus fuck they better not follow through with that idea. Those planes are on their last legs and would be next to useless in any kind of real war.

They should just buy F-35Bs.

What would happen if a fully armed top spec Abrams on an exercise went AWOL and decided to shoot up a city?

How would it be dealt with?

College student anon here.

Was at work and a coworker told me that "to qualify for financial aid, you have to sign up for the draft when you turn 18"

I told him "The fuck you talking about? What do you mean 'Sign up for the draft'?"

He's telling me that to qualify for federal aid in college, you have to sign up for the draft

>He keeps saying DRAFT

So why is it that to allegedly qualify for financial aid, you have to VOLUNTARILY sign up for an INVOLUNTARY service, ie the draft?

They automatically signed me up when I enlisted. It didn't even make sense.

Why is Sig's P22X line of handguns so expensive? I get why an all steel gun would carry a premium over all the plastic wonderguns but even their polymer-framed ones are costly? What do they do that handguns that cost half as much don't. Is it really as simple as some kind of faggy SEAL fanboyism? I'd love to own a P226 but the price is absurd.
153 posts and 21 images submitted.
>>
>>28570773
Then don't buy one. 226's were cool before the mk25. They are priced the way they are because people are willing to pay that price for them
>>
>>28570773
I would also like to hear legitimate reasons for the price
>>
>>28570773
Except that's wrong. The P22X pistols (220, 245, 225 226, 227, 228, 229, etc) have METAL frames, hence the price premium. The SP2022 is polymer and you can get it for less than a Glock, around $400. The P320 is polymer and it's priced competitively with Glocks, from $475-575, depending on if it has night sights.

Whats best in the 4 inch "compact" range? Give ups and downs and why you would carry it.
So far

Sig p320
Glock 19
Walther PPQ
HK VP9

I'd go with the PPQ, it has a really nice trigger and a super short reset.
PPQ and VP9 feel pretty much the same to me. Though I prefer the PPQs mag release.
Sig P320 feels more or less like any other sig in the hand but doesn't have that DA/SA trigger, and it has a higher bore axis over the PPQ and VP9
Theyre all really nice but if just one of them was offered to me, I'd grab the PPQ

It's no secret that the ATF is staffed by a bunch of incompetent dickheads, but my old man (en ex LEO) told me about one time some ATF agents almost got him killed.

>Be my dad in 1989
>Clock in, get my assignment for the day, start my shift
>I have the paddy wagon today, I hop in with my partner and the day begins
>Get a call on the radio, it's my sergeant
>"Car 9, we got in touch with some feds that are going to case a house, they asked for a wagon and some guys in uniforms"
>Hell yeah, let's go.
>Meet up with the feds, they're both wearing jackets with ATF on the back
>Oh shit, here we go
>"Hey gents, thanks for the help, we have an interest in a guy in the area that's a part of one of the local biker gangs, we think that he way be in possession of automatic weapons and that he has intent to sell them, so we're going to poke around and see if we can't get anything out of him."
>"Alright, where does he live?"
> Fed points to the house in front of us "That one."
>jesusfuckingchrist.jpeg
>"So you mean to tell me that there may be a guy with automatic weapons in there, and we've been standing out front of his house in uniform for five minutes!?"
>ATF guy gets all flustered and says "well what do you think we should do officer?" (He put a lot of emphasis on the word officer)
>"Whatever, fuck this" I get my partner and we walk up to the house and knock on the door.
>Some old dude answers the door.
>"Good morning sir, does so and so live here?"
>Old man raises an eyebrow and says "Warrant?"
>"We don't have a warrant, we just wanted to-"
>"Then have a nice day gentlemen" old guy shuts the door. Probably was the guy's dad and was in the fold at one point as well.
> Walk back to the wagon, but not before chewing the ATF guy out.
>"Your lieutenant will hear about this" The ATF guy says
>"Yeah sure, blow me."
>Rest of he day goes smoothly

And that was when Dad learned first hand that the ATF ain't shit.

ATF was especially shitty in 1989 since that year they also tightened the "sporting purpose" clause and banned over 40 sport guns from import because "muh assault weapons".
>>
>>28568280
No surprise there.

I wonder where they find those guys...
>>

The saying goes "If the FBI won't take you the DEA might, If the DEA won't take you, the Marshalls might, and if the Marshalls won't take you, the ATF most definitely will.
