I'm looking to purchase a vinyl cutter and am
wanting to know if these ebay cutters are as
bad as everybody says. Of course people
with Roland cutters will say they're shit,
but i won't be using it on a commercial level.
Has anybody bought one and if so, how are they?

I have a Silhouette Cameo and it's great. Although the cuttings area is only 30 x N cm, it has served me well for years.
The software is atrocious though.

i haven't done it but there's seems to be quite a few ways to do it automatically (envelope distort, transform, shear, 3d extrude with 0 depth, perspective tool, etc) another easy way could be on a 3d software just copy a bunch of planes/clone array and position the camera in the middle then just image traced it on ai.

it looks like two mountains tbqh. the name should be bigger, is there a need for 2 pencils? and the pencils needs to be a little more obvious. one idea i just had that could be interesting it's a logo that look like pencil it's drawing the company name like one of those m.c. escher drawings. lately i've seen more people requesting more organic/hand made designs.

Anyway, there are tons of people who study motion graphics as their major, and they are VERY good (I don't do it myself, but here's one of my friend's reel https://vimeo.com/63595565).
It's a high-stakes business and you really need to master 3d as well as 2d, plus having original style(s). But it's a rewarding discipline if youre ready to devote your life to it, and you get a lot more creative freedom than in graphic design.
So far it looks good OP, but a few things I would do different are:
- Adjust some colors. For example: The circle containing 'hi' at the very start curses with the background color. Also the background color of the slide with the Adobe logos don't match color wise
- Do something more with de last half minute. It's a bit boring compared to the rest of your video. As it contains less movement, you could say there is a style difference. Do something with the cat for example, or chop up the information you want to bring across in smaller packs

Yeah that would work better with the "old paper" type of look they are going for, the modern logo in the middle throws it off.
