I repair computers to pay for my college and I've been using this logo that I personally did to my little workshop we last 10 months, any ideas for improvement? I am certainly not a designer, so I have no clue how to do it better.

if you help me I will be forever grateful

Few things, make sure the cricles at the end of the lines are in the middle of the circle, make them all smaller if they over lap onto lines next to them. The lines should get only a dot on one end the far left one has 2 and the one next to it has none. make the font on the bottem bold too, it seems too thin compaired to the top writing.
>>
Nice logo. I suggest making it simpler--keep the major design you have, put less into it. I agree with making the circles intersect the lines at their centers. The first thing when I see when I look at this is the graphic instead of the name. I suggest making the graphic smaller to sort of frame the D. the text and image should be equally ballanced.

Otherwise, good work on a potentially problematic design.

You repair computers, not world domination. I say reduce the Cyberdyne factor. Proper punctuation is a must.

Chocolate in 2x3 grid only, simplify the shape of liquid, thicker lines for wine glass. Try to compress it vertically.

62 KB,
Are Squarespace websites too common now? I just want a simple way to show off my shit to clients/jobs I'm applying to. It seems like every designer I check out has the exact same template.

Do people give a shit about the website itself or is it more the content of the site? Will people look at it and say "Oh anon didn't code his own site"?

depends who's looking and what your portfolio is

if it's Web Dev, I would certainly judge if you didn't code it yoursel

you might have more leeway if you're just design tho

but if you have the skills, why not code (at least part of it) yourself? nothing wrong with using a framework but just throw in a "//coded with love by anon" and you're probably gucci
>>
>>243968

Well, if you know coding and you put that on your resume you should have coded your own website. If you're just a designer, then I'm sure that's fine if it's only to display your design work.

The majority of my work is print design, logo work, client-based stuff like album covers, illustrations, motion graphics, and some UI design.

I have some basic knowledge of HTML/CSS but definitely wouldn't say I'm trying to show that stuff off. I know enough that I definitely plan on throwing in some custom code to tweak the template, but that's definitely not a point of emphasis I'm trying to show off.

Was just wondering if...

Bro I don't know where you live, but I live in one of the cheapest parts of the US and I started at $30k/yr straight out of college 2 years ago. And I'm not even a specialist. If you specialize in motion, you don't suck, you've been at it 5 years and you don't live in Zimbabwe, you should be making at LEAST twice what I am.

36 KB,
This year, the cups are more minimalist -- a red ombre design that Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks' vice president of design, said was meant to embrace “the simplicity and the quietness” of the holiday season.

I'm about to graduate with a bachelors in GD. After seeing this photo and the quote I wonder if I wasted my time or is everything this brain dead simple....How the fuck does RED represent quiet?

Maybe they're referring to the uncluttered-ness of the cup rather than the color. They probably just used the color because of Christmas.
