Fellow /ck/ brothers, I come to you in my hour of need.
I've been offered the pastry chef job at my work.
Provided, I can melt some faces with a stellar V-day dessert.
Anyone have suggestions?
Sky's the limit.
I suggest you seek another line of work if you need the slackjawed morons on /ck/ to assist you with something like this.
I'd do profiteroles with strawberry, chocolate, and maybe something almond in/with it.
maybe something like a strawberry mille-feuille?
What are some recommendations for vegetarian friendly meals? Preferably something I can make a lot of ahead of time and eat over the course of a week.
GF is vegetarian, whereas I eat meat as well as veggies, so we're looking for meals we can make that'll last us.
We're starting off with chili, and I'm just gonna add in my meat when I reheat it.

That won't last all week.
>>7250268
Sure it will.
What are some good snacks to stash at your desk senpai? I work at a call center and it sucks ass. I'm basically chained to a desk all day and I get hungry during my 11 hour shift. I am trying to avoid chips and candy since it's a sit down job and I don't want to get diabetes like everyone else who works there
What are the best filling snacks that preferably don't have a strong smell or anything and don't require refrigeration?
Nuts
>>7250189
An apple.
bring some cut fruit/veg from home like apples, peppers, carrots etc

I know bacon is the top tier of meme food, but what about pork jowl (pic related).
braise em in some ale and enjoy
>>7250157
I thought about wrapping them around some scallops and covering in hollondaise
It's delicious, just like bacon, but they don't make jowl flavored breath mints so you're still allowed to enjoy it.
Do you like my sandwich? It may look ugly but it tasted very good. I call it "The crocodile appetizer", because even a crocodile would eat this.
that's really impressive
Excellent plating, op
>>7250055
Here is it microwaved
Anyone else put cheese in their coffee instead of milk?
I put cheese in my milk instead of coffee.
>>7250039
sounds fucking horrendous. I've heard a little salt can bring out the flavour of hot drinks like Hot Chocolate so I wonder what it would do to coffee.
yeah i tried bulletproof coffee, wasn't hardcore enough so i put triple cream blue cheeses in now.
Alright everyone. My mother has quite the health problem right now and its seriously limiting what she can eat. She hasn't had much to each today. I need recipes with pretty crazy needs.
so here we go: It needs to be low cholesterol, low salt, not fried, low carbs, and high in iron. At least she doesn't have any allergies. Think you can do it?
Steamed broccoli and kale.
>>7250027
Anything else?
one can not live off broccoli and kale alone
>>7250010
Just look up low carb diet recipes, most of them should be applicable.
For the moment how about a spinach salad, cauliflower puree and a steak?

Birthday today, and on a weekend I have off no less, pretty fucking stoked. I wanna go all out on making an awesome dinner today, but for as much cooking as I've been doing lately I can't think of a single god damn thing to make that I haven't already made.
What should I make tonight, /ck/?
Make like a tree and leaf.

I'm on pizza overload dude, can't do it. Been trying to perfect my pizza recipe this last month and simply can't indulge anymore.
how about this? labour intensive but very tasty
you can deep fry instead of steaming/frying and substitute diced carrots for the water chestnuts
use dumpling wrappers or w/e if you can't get the bean curd skin

Hey guyse I'm currently cooking up an absolute shit load of chickpeas, because I soaked the whole packet but didn't need them all for the recipe.
Anyway, what can I make for dinner with chickpeas as the main ingredient?
jesus dude....humus
>>7249680
Falafel, hummus, chickpea and spinach soup.
So for whatever reason I have a a shit ton of oranges, grapefruits, and nectarines and i need to get rid of them. I was thinking of making them into sweets, but I cant decide on what. Any ideas?
>pic related
>for whatever reason
You know the reason. Tell us.
Also, make preserves.
>>7249692
...farmers market sale...except the nectarines. I actually have not idea where it came from. Not even listed on my receipt. And I am planning on perserves, but Ill still have a lot left over. I wanted to try making something new
>>7249667
mix some grated zest with sugar and store it in a jar
do chocolate-coated candied rinds
reduce some juice into syrup and freeze the rest
Wild berry objectively best flavor
Inb4
>muh cinnamon, chocolate, peanut butter or other baked good flavor
Absolutely disgusting, too rich, try again.
>muh specific fruit flavor
Why have one when you can have them all at the same time?
>muh toaster strudels
Fuck off
Honorable mention: frozen hot fudge sundae
>>7249616
Probably correct. Never liked poptarts all that much. The chocolate ones that are supposed to be frozen would come in second place. Toaster strudels in third.
>>7249616
Shitty "breakfast" dessert for children
Saged
Wild berry best, frosted strawberry a close second. Side note, I like the cookie dough ones after I freeze them, it's a good desert
>let the steak come to room temperature
do i have to do this or is it another meme/misconception?
>>7249598
if you like blue in the middle, brown on the outside then go ahead and call it a meme you dumb frog poster
it's just a misconception. it also takes a lot longer to get it to room temp than most people think, usually a couple of hours.
>>7249598
You should.
I don't always do it though. It depends on how hungry i am.
What ones do you like /ck/?
Personally I like
>honey and peanut butter
>hummus and chocolate chip cookies
>m&m and wafer ham sandwiches
>>7249596
Honey and peanut butter is not wierd at all though
They compliment each other nicely
The rest of that shit is gross though
Get your taste checked out by a professional
Honey is basically just HFCS, it would make most things taste better
