So, I learned about Perpetual Stew some time ago and decided to make in in my own ( lazy ) way. That is, whenever I make a stew, I store some of it in the freezer and use it as a stock next time I make a stew. So far the stews taste much more wholesome than they did before.

Today I'm making bread ( glorified pizza dough with some seeds and oat-flakes ) and I got to wondering, could you do the same with bread? I do know of sourdough but keeping it is a hassle. Could I take part of the bread-dough I make today, freeze it and make a new bread of it later ( and not use yeast in the new bread ). Would it work?

It would be easier to have a starter that you keep in the fridge, unless you bake infrequently. I bake all my bread, so me starter is being fed twice a week.
>>
>>7368758
That's just it, I don't bake very often. I did read some people got good results with starter in fridge for up to 6 months but ehh... I don't think I'd be able to keep it alive and I'm too worried about contaminants.
>>
Freezing will sometimes kill yeast and sometimes not, but unlikely to work. Keeping a starter is way easier than you'd think, about on par with remembering to feed a goldfish.

Help me /ck/ you're my only hope

I want to eat healthy but I'm just goddamn lazy

I end up eating out all the time even though it's all garbage with few exceptions because the convenience is too tempting. I need a few ideas for quick and easy staple meals I can eat on pretty much a daily basis with minimal preparation (inb4 "cock"); preferably low-sodium and low-carb. While I'm not fat I just generally feel like shit. Day after day I feel low-energy and low-test (I'm not just spouting epic memes when I say that either) and I doubt my low-intake of low-quality food doesn't have anything to do with that.

Thanks in advance for any help you're able to provide, any information you can share to help block out the alluring siren song of fast food restaurants and diners is greatly appreciated.

In that case, go see a doctor. Ask to have your blood analyzed, you may have some thyroid disorder or whatever.

After that, it might help to see a dietician if your insurance covers it. If not, well, try to stick to three meals a day. Personally I have oatmeal and a glass of milk for breakfast, a grilled cheese sandwich and a glass of milk for lunch and a homecooked meal for dinner. No snacks other than fruit in between.

Also, stop drinking soda. Drink water instead (carbonated water is good too). If you keep feeling cravings, light alternatives of your favorite soda might help with the "transition", so to speak. And they're usually 0 calories so it's not as good as water but at least it's better than normal soda.

In the end it's just calories in, calories out. The hard part is how you manage that.

Oh, and do try to find a sport you enjoy. Swimming is nice, and even if you only do it once a week it's better than not doing anything at all.
And read the /fit/ sticky, scrub
You could be right but I don't have insurance so a doctor is out for the time being.

>read the /fit/ sticky

I'm sure this is in part a lack of exercise problem - I have a pair of dumbbells sitting within arms' reach that I haven't touched in some time and a .txt file wherein I'd written what I ought to do with them- but I think my nihilism's genesis is moreso the mental and physical degeneration caused by the diet.

>stop drinking soda

You're right, I seldom drink more than two cans over the course of a day but even that's way more than anybody should considering that the stuff is literally poison.

>Personally I have oatmeal and a glass of milk for breakfast, a grilled cheese sandwich and a glass of milk for lunch and a homecooked meal for dinner. No snacks other than fruit in between.

That sounds like a good start. I keep buying oatmeal and forgetting I have it for some reason; luckily it keeps as long as it does.

Maybe you could buy them ready made (not sure what they look like in whatever country you're from, this is what it's like in the Netherlands) if you're too lazy to make it yourself. It remains good for about a week or so, but if you eat breakfast every day that's more than enough. Just take a smale bowl of it, add some banana slices, maybe a teaspoon of honey and you're good to go.

I've always wanted to try out vegetarianism for shits and giggles. I figured I'd shoot for a month and longer who knows.

I've eaten so much fucking meat lately I'm starting to get sick of it, so I figure now is a good time to try it out.

I don't eat soy, so what else do you freaks do in place of meat? Literally 98% of the main dishes I know how to make are meat based.

So basically you just want to learn how to cook.

You could have just said that without baiting for replies with veggie shit.
>>
>>7368361
Just eat food minus the meat. Its not fucking rocket science.
>>
>>7368361
Try bean based chilis. Look to asian food as well,as they generally are vegetarian as well.

So, I've started eating coffee beans. Does anyone else on /ck/ do this?

I don't eat that many, just a couple beans per day. I'm tempted to try making chocolate-covered coffee beans, which is why I was curious to try eating whole beans.

Eat them while I work (coffee shop). I like adding them to ice cream.

>go for monthly grocery shopping spree
>get a stack of egg roll wraps
>get tons of ingredients for making awesome egg rolls of different styles

>a day later find out I accidentally bought tortilla wraps

I'll be trying to make my own cut I can't find as many recipes online to cross reference as I like. and getting them as nice and thin as they are from the store will take years of experience and Asian blood, neither of which I have. I already know how and make tortilla wraps.

Tell me your mistakes, /ck/.

A carrot slice rolled off the chopping board and into the gap between the bench and the stove. As far as I know it's still there mocking me and laughing at how he escaped the horrors of being eaten and digested. I'll get that little fucker back one day when I accidentally burn the house down.

I was seated next to a man who was telling me about a Freudian Slip. The ticket counter girl apparently had huge knockers. Instead of saying, "I'll have two tickets to Pittsburg," he said, "I'll have two pickets to titsburg."

I could relate. I told him that very morning, I meant to ask for a bowl of cornflakes. Instead, I said, "You ruined me life, you evil bitch!"

Hello /ck/,

I need some help. I was reading this recipe (link ahead) and I have doubts about a certain step. English is not my mother language, so I don't fully understand what I have to do.

A visual guide or a good translation to Spanish would be great

The step:
>Fold in the chocolate mixture using a rubber spatula, being careful not to break down the egg whites.

The recipe: http://spanishfood.about.com/od/spanishcustardspuddings/r/Chocolate-Hazelnut-Mousse-Recipe-Mousse-de-Chocolate-y-Avellanas.htm

Folding a mouse is important to preserve the bubbles. Do not stir, gently fold the bottom layer unto the top repeatedly until a uniform texture has been reached.
>>
>>7368111
Ok, I think I got it. I will look more info about that, now that I know what that means.

Fold by gently lifting a part of the batter around and on top of itself. So that you mix by gradual layering instead of any side to side shearing.
