What kind of cheese is in this sauce?
>>7410271
From what the website says about using enzymes to process their cheese it probably isn't any type that is classified. It may be similar to a farmers cheese or mozzarella flavored cheese without the stringy-ness.
either way its a very mild cheese to not overpower the red sauce.
Also, I do know that the sauce can be recreated. Me and my ex-gf went to Chicago. All the best resteraunts were closed so we went to this random diner. Upon entering it looked like it still had its original decor from 1965. Only...

Which diner was it?

>a very mild cheese to not overpower the red sauce.
w-wha
it's bottom-tier cheddar, aka "fake parmesan", cultured for maximum stink so they can use less.
a very un-mild cheese that completely overpowers any other flavor present.
hence the tangy, vomit-like taste.
How does /ck/ rate Basa fish fillets? In Australia they're dirt cheap and imported from vietnam. They're fish farmed and I've done some googling and they seem to be pretty healthy and not contaminated. Apparently they're basically the same as catfish farmed in the USA only tastier and a lot cheaper.
I've been making laksa with them, baking them in the oven with greek seasonings and garnishes and generally just been eating a bunch of fish lately.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

How do you react when you fuck up in the kitchen?
Even great chefs do it. So when you overcook that steak, when you unde rboil that pasta, when your chicken is raw on the inside and burnt on the outside, how do you handle it?
I clean my whole kitchen from top to bottom. I also mentally berate myself the whole time and will force myself to eat the food no matter how badly prepared as self punishment.
Typing it out it seems kind of crazy, now. Otherwise I'm a normal person, I don't fuck up too often cooking anyways.
I cut the plug off the toaster once when I burnt some toast. I nearly blew myself up but I was in such a rage I didn't care. Fuck know why but I get angrier and angrier the longer the cooking of a meal goes on to the point that I'm nuts by the time it comes to plating up. My gf thinks I'm a weirdo
>>7409978
OP here, I think it's the build up. You spend an hour making something, people are waiting, it's gonna be so good and then...your dumb ass wasn't paying attention to the heat, you didn't season your properly, didn't mix enough, etc.
It's that disappointment that makes me feel that way. Bothers my gf too but shit, there's one thing I'm competent at in life and that's cooking. When I fuck it up its just...I dunno.
Depends on my current mental state. If i'm depressed and I fuck something up i'll slam my shitty dishes and swear out loud quite a lot (only if i'm home alone). Sometimes i'm tempted to smash my plates and shit but i've only ever smashed one bowl
I then don't usually cook for 2 weeks or so
/Fit/izen here, could you guys help us out by posting some good low calorie foods here with preferably high protein that doesn't taste like dogshit? Maybe some sick recipes? Thanks in advance.

Pic related, some Sicilian olives and Perrier
>>7409025
I really like your style
Green olives are the only acceptable form of olives
>>7409039
Thanks! I got some from Costco and they're the darker green olives that don't feel like you're eating pieces of pure salt
And the Perrier was cold in the fridge, figured I may as well have it.
So I bought a bottle of Bailey's last night, and had about three sips before giving up on it. Ever since I got alcohol poisoning in eight grade, the taste of alcohol has made me want to puke. I can tolerate some light beers (bud light lime, etc) but most mixed drinks and beers make me gag, and liquor makes me vomit instantly.
I like being drunk, and my birthday is in a few days. What can I make that I won't taste the alcohol in but will still get drunk? I'd like to do something with the Bailey's because I still have almost a whole bottle in the fridge.
And I mean I REALLY won't taste it. I was advised to buy the Bailey's because "you wont taste it" and it has a terrible bite.
>>7408728
can always add alcohol to things, you know. try adding bailey's to chocolate milk or even better hot chocolate.
You just have to train yourself though. I used highballs (whiskey + sprite/ginger ale + twist of lemon) to get me into whiskey
tootsie roll is rum, orange juice and kaluha sp
Long Island Iced Teas have so much alcohol in them that you can't taste them, they'll get you fucked too. I recommend those.
>>7408728
make a white russian.
use cake or whipped cream flavored vodka instead of plain vodka.
make sure you use plenty of milk/half and half.
My onions in the slow cooker are almost done caramalising,
I tried a bit but I'm afraid I'm not getting a big punch of flavour, tastes almost no different than onions flash grilled at a Bunnings charity BBQ.
Should I let it be, add some bullion or spices? The recipe only called for butter and salt. They didnt tell about draining the liquid either, because there's a tonne of it.
>>7408224
Well done, you committed a war crime against onions. I hope you're please with yourself.
>>7408238
Lol
How do you like them?
Typically I like them grilled like they do at Bunnings, with all the Coles sausage drippings mixed in, hence this trial.
>caramelize
>onions are completely white and soupy
clearly u fucked up

If I put a lid over an egg that's frying sunny side up, what does it become? A poached egg? A steamed egg?
A fried egg with a lid on it
i mean anyone would still call it a fried egg but there is plenty of steam cooking.

Hey guys!
I want to make this recipe

(english sub available, ignore tensions between the hosts)
any additions or subtractions?
also,
>no bacon/salted ham
>no bay leaves
>only have thin stainless steel stock pot
>only red wine is woodbridge
>using previously frozen beef round
The two most important players are the beef and wine,...

you can make a beef stew in red wine and use that as a guideline if you want, but yeah round is not a good stewing cut.
>>7407036
shit, my bad it's actually chuck. not really sure how I got them confused
>>7407027
Your meat is fine.
The bacon/ham really helps the dish; you sure you can't scrounge some up?
Your pot is not ideal but it will work; just make sure you watch the heat so it doesn't burn to the pan.
I'm not familiar with Woodbridge wine. I would say that you shouldn't use cheap shit, if that's what you have. If the wine tastes off then you will only concentrate those nasty flavors when you cook it down. On the other hand there's no need to splurge on expensive shit either....

How do you make a good salad? I used to make really great salads, but I stopped making them as often and lost it. Now all the salads I make are shit.
What are good things to add to both the salad and the dressing?
Romaine and lettuce. Also italian dressing with some shredded chicken . Good shit when you are trying to lose wieght.
>>7405812
Mix arugula and whatever other green you want. Dressing is easy. Lemon juice + w/e other flavors you want (honey, miso, garlic, shallots, w/e) + salt / pepper and whisk in oil. Toss it more than you think you need to. Add tomatoes, cucumbers, sliced onions, or green onions. Cheese if you dont care about being healthy
>>7405812
You don't, salad fucking sucks. By the time it tastes good with vinagrette, you could've made it into a decent dish with meat and potatoes/noodles/whateverthefuck.
>no wifey thread
