Is boiling sausages a legitimate way to cook them?
I tried boiling some brats but they tasted even oilier than when I pan fried them. What gives?
I've heard it's a good way to cook thick sausages, they don't burn on the outside before the inside is cooked.
Still need to brown them in a pan a bit before you serve them though.
Frankfurts and things like that are cooked by boiling.
I've never heard of boiling sausages though.
Do you guys eat outside of your kitchen / dining area?
I eat in my bed.
It's great! I get to stuff my face while laying down!
i only eat at my desk which is in my room. My kitchen is downstairs. I just like to watch netflix or youtube while eating

I eat 3/4 of my meals next to my computer
What candy does /ck/ like that they think they probably shouldn't?
I'm way more into baked goods but these are my favorite candy. Jelly beans in the style of jelly bellies but much better. A bunch of different flavors and they're all super nice.
I love milk chocolate (but I wish I liked dark)
>>7649490
I like dark so much more than milk. Do you not have a taste for bitter flavors? How old are you? Honest question, most people seem to like bitter tastes a lot more as they age.
I find the mix of bitter and sweet is so much better than the almost sickly sweet of milk chocolate. I also really love chocolate covered coffee beans for the same reason.
Weebs, please suggest a zojirushi model for me to purchase. I had a garbage aromna cooker that constantly burns and makes me garbage rice.
>>7655707
Just pick one with a lot of good reviews.
here you go
>>7655707
That would imply weebs know how to cook, or even emulate japanese culture at even the most basic level.
You want to be asking actual asians.

i usually drink a bunch of bud lights and find the sluttiest dressed girl there and try to get her to touch my penis
>>7649136
solid strategy right here
I drink alone and browse /ck/ and touch my own penis
What junk foods like chips and drinks give you enough energy for an all-nighter? Thanks
Would rather eat healthy foods that take longer to break down and release energy over a longer period of time to be honest.
>>7649128
That wasn't the question. Try eating some more brain food or something. Fuck.
Nuts, Trail Mix, pretzel bites
>crack open a Corona
>fuck yes
>take a sip
>smells like a skunk
>wtf
>open another bottle

because the people dumb enough to buy corona also don't know what beer is supposed to taste like.

get pacifico or dos equis instead
Drink Negra Modelo
Californians assemble. Talk about good local food you've tried. Any older institutions you're particularly really fond of?
I just tried Dino's chicken and fries for the first time last night and and the smell alone gave me a boner. Their gravy has some Greek and Mexican spice combo in it that makes it taste really zesty and creamy.

Fuck off you flyover cuck.
>>7648953
If you're ever in the burbank/montrose/la crescenta area there's this small chain of hole in the wall teriyaki bowl/burger joints called Yakis. They have these things called bulldogs, basically cheese wrapped hotdogs wrapped in an egg roll wrapper and then deep fried. Fcuking delicious.
In and out obviously
In pasadena there's Lucky Boy for some god-tier breakfast burritos.
If you're in Santa Rosa up north, Russian River Brewery is awesome for sour beers. And that's all...

San Diego is a place with so much amazing food the burritos are the best, if you want beer go to Ballast Point Homebrew mart so much better than their main brewery
Is resting meat important or just a meme? I really can't tell the difference when i do it except that the meat gets colder.
>>7648932
you're supposed to wrap the meat in foil first, buttwipe.
>>7648932
What are the numbers on the plates I can't read them?
Top left is obviously the juiciest.
>>7648974
This, and yes it makes a difference. But letting meat come to room temperature before cooking is definitely a meme.
for me, it's the drums.
sure, the flats have more meat and they're easier to eat. but there's something appealing about eating little drum sticks.
>>7652940
hot wings
>>7652940
I don't like their cartilidge distribution. Flats are fun as fuck to scrape clean, which, let's be honest, is 90% of why we eat wings.
>>7652940
I love chewing off the huge chunk of cartilage. So crunchy.
Is vanilla extract really needed for baking? How much of a difference does it make?
>>7648919
About 17% you flyover cuck.
>>7648919
yes, add like 3-4x the recommended amount if you want to be a professional
>>7648919
high heat applications imitation tastes better than extracts due to the flavor being stronger and extracts being alcohol based, if it isn't being heated very hot then the bean, paste or extract is better.
What is the negative effects of using a too much oil when cooking a steak in cast iron.
I cook quit for friends and guests at their house and a couple of chefs have told me I use too much oil in the pan when cooking steak.
If this is true, what are the downsides?
>>7648845
Oil splattering all over the place.
>>7648845
They probably mean you don't have to use that much oil, because the steak will sear with a smaller amount
no need to waste oil
I really want to get into wine but where do I start? Pretty burnt out on beer ect..
in b4 lurk moar
>>7648835

Find a local winery or some place that does wine tastings and go try a variety of different wines. Figure out what varieties you prefer.
Once you have a rough idea of what you like, start buying different bottles of wine at the store.
Learn to pair wines with a variety of different foods.

Like cheese?
I don't want to appear a flyover tard.
On my personal cheese scale nothing from Wisconsin has below a 7. I'm a very hard critic and it shocked me.
I feel like it may be time to add Wisconsin to my filters.
Cheese is a complex food and you can't just say "geographic location X has great cheese". There is a lot more to it than that.
OP here:
>Chalet Cheese: 8.5
>Edelweiss Creamery: 8
>Sugar Brook Farms: 7.5
>Cady Cheese, LLC: 7.5
>LW Dairy: 7
See?
I frequented /ck/ since ~2009 but haven't been a regular for maybe 9 months or so... life got busy and the mainstream 4chan crowds just bored me.
Anyway, I've been on /ck/ the last couple days and am wondering what happened to that fat fuck progun? Or Sceak?
Progun is a mod now
Sceak died of a meth overdose in 2011, his dessicated bones rode the bus for months before they figured out he was actually dead
>>7648718
>Progun is a mod now
May god have mercy on us. Actually, this makes perfect sense.
>Sceak died of a meth overdose in 2011, his dessicated bones rode the bus for months before they figured out he was actually dead
I can see this happening. I remember when he was banned for 6 mo (or more?) and he came back 6 mo later at like 12:01, it was crazy.
Boards dead.
everyone sprouts generic memes and its not that fun anymore
