My grandfather has this food truck that he wants to give me. It's got a soft serve icecream machine, a slurpee machine, a pizza oven, espresso and a flat top.
The catch is that we have to pay him out over the next few years. We live in a small town that has a crazy amount of tourists during the summer time. Mostly campers, but some high rollers who like to stay in B&B's or cabins.

There's a big music festival coming to town this year and we're thinking of working it to test the waters.

Does anyone have experience running a food truck? Any major traps to be aware of?

I really have no idea how to do this, but my husband ran a similar set up for a year when he was a teenager.

Also food truck general I guess?

So I'm gonna be getting my wisdom teeth removed in a few days here, and I've been looking into foods which are best to eat after the surgery. Of course there's the usual mashed potatoes/jello/puddings/smoothies/soups, but I've been getting some mixed signals for some other things. Some people are saying spaghetti is too sticky to eat, but then some other people are saying spaghetti is okay and you should avoid rice as it's way stickier and can get itself stuck in your teeth/hole way more easily. Then I saw that a certain kind of pasta (pastina) is okay. I can understand not eating rice, but after thinking of other things I should be able to eat I'm starting to wonder what exactly classifies as "sticky" and what doesn't. Would sausages be counted as sticky? Any sorta fruits/vegetables I should be avoiding?

Should I be avoiding grains altogether, excluding this pastina stuff? I'm not sure if they even sell it in my area. I was originally thinking quinoa/couscous would be okay but I guess that shit is really small and could get stuck in my gum hole. What sort of meals with a bit of substance do you think I could eat? I was thinking cottage pie along with the things I mentioned earlier might be good. I'm seeing a lot of people recommending scrambled eggs but I guess I've developed an allergy out of nowhere, eating those makes me feel nauseous as hell nowadays.

Have any of you guys gotten your wisdom teeth removed? What did you eat? And I might be overthinking all of this, I'm getting the teeth on one side removed and the other side removed at a later date. Would it still be risky even if I just chewed on one side?

I always had to wear a hat when I worked in kitchens. It was okay because I cut my own hair and don't always shower, so putting a hat on would hide my crazy looking hair.

I always hat when I'm in the kitchen. I prefer sombreros or birthday cones

ill start
>get to work
>set up work area
> ask head chef (owner) what needs to be done
>start doing what needs to be done
>One of the line cooks (other owner) starts telling me about what needs to be done.
>they argue amongst themselves about what needs to be done.
>now have 15 things to do at once
>start going things
>they get distracted and ask me to get stuff rom basement or other assorted bullshit things
>work gets halted
>we get slammed with customers
>they freak out
>now my job description completely changes
>we need this, and that and go here and do there
>they start to freak out more
>FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK WE CANT DO IT...
>I'm just sitting there pumping out work
> finally calms down
>I go nice its busy
> They go NO ITS NOT NICE WE CANT HANDLE IT BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
>2 hours till shift ends
>just pumping out work
>1 hour till work ends
>we need this 2 hour job done
>finish half and bounce leaving w.e is left for them
.What I hate most is that for the owners they have NO FUCKING CLUE what they are doing...im often asked how is inventory or things like can I run a delivery because someone across town wants food..or my alltime favorite is is them both giving me a days worth of work in the first 15 minutes and then while I'm doing it giving me more of their own work...I'm underpaid...and they are understaffed (and cant retain staff because they are super picky)

No, deli turkey is a step above deli chicken (the worst deli meat) and just below ham with 90% water added. Get some braunschweiger, or even an olive loaf next time.

I heard once that this stuff was the hipster hot sauce.

I do like it though. I mix it with ketchup for a spicy dipping sauce.

Can someone tell me how the coffee that comes out of the high end ~$1000 Krups, is different than a $50 drip machine?

I'm talking about just black coffee, as I don't put any sugar or milk in mine.

Does anyone know anything about kilju?

Apparently it's a "traditional" Finnish wine but I find that claim dubious.

It's pretty much just sugar, water, and yeast fermented until it's anywhere between strong beer and strong wine. I am not adding any nutrients or additional ingredients, BTW. I hope the yeast will adapt and hopefully be happy.

I'm about to make some in an hour. I figure that if I carbonate it, it'll be a great base to add powdered drink mixes to. I think it'll taste like shit without additives.

Does anyone know about this? It seems like "prison wine" or poverty booze, and I'm suspicious about Wikipedia saying it's "traditional" because I don't think refined sugar is old enough to be considered a traditional food.... is it? Granted "traditional" is a very vague and broad word.

I wish I could see pics of that

Am I just a philistine? I sincerely don't get why this is basically put on nearly everything in haute cuisine. And I'm not just talking truffle oils or using it for aroma, I see people cutting up huge chunks of this stuff and throwing it into sauces or just chucking it on the plate. They taste like literally like dirt.

Because they taste fucking delicious. If you don't like truffle you don't have a refined enough palette for good food, enjoy your tendies though. Truffle oil is garbage and anyone who says it's nice is retarded.
>>
>>7653281
It's the new parsley. Remember when every place would throw a parsley sprig on the plate?

Does anyone know how big of a part forest fires played in the evolution and consumption of meat of early humans? Is this why so many people enjoy the taste of smoked foods?

Burning down forest is such a fucking waste

Why commit to deforestation if you aren't gonna fucking personalize the destruction of trees
>>
>>7653221
Forest fires are a natural phenomenon that need to happen every so often for a healthy ecosystem.
As for the question, I doubt it. We enjoy cooked / smoked foods because they were easier to digest and get energy from than raw sources.
