Rib-eye or sirloin?
17 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
I like sirloin. Lean, flavourful, good texture if cooked correctly. Ribeye is great too but I don't like the texture contrasts between the fatty bits, sirloin is pretty uniform.

How to season a steak beyond salt and pepper?

More salt and pepper

I believe most people think that the point of steak is the flavor of the meat itself and not any seasonings

Hello cu/ck/s I have $20 to cook a meal tonight for me and one other person. I've got access to stores that have the usual stuff. Keep in mind that I'm still a novice.

Any suggestions?

The pizza isn't great but at least it's better than the other chains. Normally I'd go to the pizzarias but they aren't open Monday.

Heat your oven to 350 degrees F

Spread your pasta out onto a baking tray

Pop it into the oven for 20 minutes

Hey presto, you've got cooked pasta

I took some frozen chicken breasts, seasoned them, put them in a roasting pan and baked them at 375 for like 1 hour and 30 min. Cooked some rice in the oddest way I have ever seen, you soak the rice for 25 min, I did 2 cups so I boiled 4 cups of water, put the rice in and cooked for 12 minutes. Served it up. Ez.

Are there any garden/urban agriculturalists or beekeepers on /ck/? If you have a nice garden, why not grow your own food?

Once I buy a house I think I'm going to start growing tomatoes, maybe I'll take courses in beekeeping too

You don't need a house for tomatoes. Simply buy a determinate type (ones that have a fixed growth rate) instead of indeterminate (ones that grow uncontrollably). I'm in an apartment myself and turned my Roma tomatoes, which is a determinate type, into an upside down hanging plant which hangs off my balcony.

There's a lot you can do in a small place, you just need to go vertical instead of horizontal with your growing.

I have a half finished hydrophonic hanging garden that will probably never be finished.

This.

What's even the point of putting pierogis between two thick slices of bread, only to have them smashed into oblivion when you try to eat it? The bread looks like improperly proofed garbage to begin with.

Love his music and like catching up on the lyrics about food especially cause I'm middle eastern and he always mentioning that shit. Makes him mad relatable. But when it comes to cooking I don't really fuck with idolizing chefs I'm more into trying my own thing and creating my own style by fusing together multiple things I learn from different chefs and articles.

I recently misidentified some wood I had in my back yard. I thought it was an old peach tree I chopped down, and I used it to smoke some pork for bbq.

After eating the pork, my tongue went numb, my heart started racing, my chest tightened, I had tons of energy, and I had a hard time breathing. The same happened with my wife. She threw up her dinner and felt better. I couldn't make myself throw up and had this shitty sensation for about 2 hours. I had to throw out 5 lbs of meat and 5 green chiles I smoked.

What have you fucked up on lately?

Was it pine wood perhaps? Pine can be quite nasty when it burns.
>>
>>7654710
Definitely not nicotine. I smoke, and it was nothing like smoking. I thought i was going to make a trip to the hospital. I'm thinking it fucked up electrolyte levels. I took an aspirin as a preventative measure.
