I got accepted into a prestige Uni for engineering, but I always wanted to pursue a career in video game designing. I'm stuck, and I'd be going to a 2nd rate Uni for game design as well. Anyone on here with experience making games, coding or anything related to a career in the industry?

Just do computer science. You'll learn the majority of stuff you need to know for game design.
