Why is Steam so based? Imagine if this was localized by NISA, this game would be censored.

Gamespy's shut down though so you need an unofficial patch. But you can still play it.
I'm talking about the time of my life when I was actually happy. I got to play it everyday and I wish I could relive those days. I don't think I'll ever be as happy in life as I was way back then.

Are AAA first person releases ever going to start moving away from having aim-down-sights (ADS) as a feature?
ADS works in some games like STALKER, ARMA, Metro, or really anything kind of slower paced and where each bullet is meant to matter more, but in fast paced hyperactive bulletfests, it just ruins the pacing and makes different weapons more samey than they really should be.
I know that "console players need ADS+autoaim to make up for joystick aiming" is the justification often given, but Halo is a major console title that doesn't use ADS. But other releases aren't following its lead in weapon handling design.
ADS really takes away a lot of the personality of weapons, both visually (in every COD or whatever, the scopes are interchangable and you are looking down a generic scope or red dot 90% of the time) and mechanically (recoil and spread).
Some games have weirdly even included ADS when the game design pretty much goes against the player using it, and when ADS wouldn't even be missed- thinking Borderlands and RAGE.
I'm currently replaying Far Cry 1, and it has the "Eye zoom'o'vision" instead of ADS. It seems a little hokey at first, but I got used to it and still like that over ADS.

Mystery Dungeon...?
Okay. Atlus announced a collaboration with Spike Chunsoft today, with Atlus developing. Etrian Odyssey: Mystery Dungeon looks to be exactly what you'd expect, but damn do those environments look comfy. Also announced was Etrian Odyssey V... finally. Nothing but a teaser video, but we will surely see some more information within the next few weeks given the state of their teaser website.
EO:MD is slated for a March 5, 2015 launch in Japan. That's all we know about so far. What do you think, /v/? Does EO:MD sound like an interesting concept? How about potential hopes/fears for EOIV?

Played both for a period of time. Did endgame, pvp, etc.
FFXIV is fun and all but it feels pretty cosmetic. For the entire time I was playing it I was thinking to myself, I could just be playing wow. It is the same shit without as many restrictions. Bosses all have set attack patterns too, down to every individual melee swing, so there is little room for anything exciting to happen.
I liked the community though, compared to wow. I would say FFXIV is superior for anyone that prefers social gaming, but wow's gameplay is still too superior for FFXIV's to compare.
Just my opinion anyway.
Hopefully this will be the WH40K game everybody deserve-...

I played majora's mask for 10 hours in an attempt to beat it in one sitting
right around the time I reached the tree there was a teeny tiny earthquake, like cat 2.0 or something. The tremor caused the game to freeze and I had to reset and of course I hadn't saved since getting into stone tower temple
got a migraine shortly thereafter and threw in the towel
