Flavors of the month/week come and go all the time, doesn't mean you should restrict yourself from playing something you might enjoy because of some flaky trend-followers.
I must admit, I'm surprised to see how casuals FPS became.
I finished Singularity with almost no problem in normal, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein in normal mode is kicking my ass hard.
No magical hp regeneration, no magical weapon, enemies are perfectly-trained soldiers instead of being mexicans with pistols.
