/v/ what did you want to see on a mmo zombie survival game?
pic related
(we dont have nice concept arts, yet)
Something that isn't a buggy piece of shit, and actually has enough content to be playable.Don't make Dayz2.0

So /v/ do you use vidya as a way to bond and socialize more with people, or as a way to isolate yourself from the world further?
probably like 30% socializing 70% isolation
interesting question
no I use it to have fun
Why the fuck would I want to socialize with other people over video games considering it's mostly teenagers?
I play games to entertain myself.
Well?
why are his paws white on the right side. I call bullshit, that's two different dogs.
first one because overalls are meant to cover the legs
stop reposting shit still alive on /an/
>BFG and Chainsaw aren't on the weapon wheel since they're used in specific scenarios, Chainsaw is on D-Pad down and BFG is on X. Seems like they're treating the BFG as a panic button.
>Weapons have mods you can find, ex. a remote detonation mod for the rocket launcher
>Plot premise seems similar to Doom 3. A character named Dr. Olivia Pierce appears on a video suggesting she unleashed the demons as some kind of religious cult thing.
>On-screen enemy count isn't numbered but described as "a demon avalanche", "bloodbath"
>Chainsaw is a one hit kill on most enemies, multiple on bigger enemies like the Mancubus, power cells are limited
>Colored keycards and backtracking for secrets.
>Some locations: Lazarus Facility, Martian surface, Titan's Realm (as seen on the cover)
>Permanent character upgrades that allow you to swap weapons and mantle more quickly, increase ammo and health capacity
>Swappable perk "runes", ex. one gives you a stackable temp speed boost after melee kills
>Hell is more vertical than the UAC facility
>Enemies have weak point, ex. the pinky demon is armored in front and soft in the butt
>An enemy type only described as "a summoner"
>As suspected, idTech 6 appears to be very similar to idTech 5 but with a completely new PBR renderer
>Plans to offer "sliders and multi-sampling options" for PC players. Only time in the article PC is mentioned specifically.
>Multiplayer mode called Warpath, an domination style mode where the control area drifts around the map
>Clan Arena mode, this is just team Last Man Standing.
>Swappable "hack modules" are earned through MP progression, ex. Supply Timer that shows spawn timers for pickups on screen. Apparently none of them throw off the competitive balance.
>>323346634
>Apparently multiplayer has more guns than single player, including a "lightning gun", this might be GI assuming based on what was offered in the demo portions though.
>Namedrops of old Doom WADs followed by statement implying that they won't be releasing mod tools outside of SnapMap because of accessibility consoles. seems like kind of a big fuck you.
>Examples of modes made in SnapMap: tower defense, moddy single-player missions, VIP escorts, racing challenges
>Moddable enemy AI to some extent
>SnapMap stuff is all shared on SmartHub, categories like top rated and most played, user profiles, seems a lot like Mario Maker
>All SnapMap creations are small instruction files, you can probably forget about custom textures and rooms and whatnot
>Another named section/level of UAC, Resource Operations
>An alternate version of the Mancubus was described, this one with flamethrowers. Assuming this in addition to the plasma shooting one as seen in the E3 footage
>Possessed Engineer enemy type, a former human with an explosive fuel pack that causes chain reactions
>Reiterating that there are a lot of small secret areas
>The Baron of Hell is another playable demon in multiplayer, joining the Revenant. He has a melee swipe and an AOE ground pound
>SnapMap inspired by Garage Band, more stupid shit about not wanting to do mods traditionally
>Lots of SnapMap tutorials included
>Monster AI can be assigned to teams in SnapMap, can fight along side player

Do you agree, /v/?
Is GT still around? Does anyone even watch it anymore?
2011/12 deserve to be on the list above 13, 2015 only got on that high due to recency bias, 2007 is overrated and should be bottom three, and 87 should be cut.
Rest is okay, though I prefer 97 to 98 personally.

They've got a decent podcast.
Vids are shit tho.
>only one month away before anyone who preordered gets access to the beta
>only two months from release
>hype levels: IN ORBIT
Has /v/ ever been so hype for a game before? This is crazy.
I'm not that hyped because I played Absolution, but I still pre-ordered the game and will gladly play the beta. If they achieve even 50% of Blood Money's, It'll be worth the price of admission alone.
All of the design decisions they made and talked about are right on the money, all that's left is to see if the game delivers as well as it hopes to.
>>323344950
I'm not hyping hitman after the experience that absolution was. Especially after how they've said this one will play out, almost as if its early access. Slowly releasing more of the game.
I'll give it a try but my hype levels for it are 0.
>>323346105
>>323346394
Absolution was mechanically the best Hitman game in the series. All that lacked was level design.
This game combines the level design of Blood Money with the mechanics of Absolution.
Thoughts on the recent big update?
tf2 is shit
tf2c is also shit
I loved it really. Fixed alot of balance issues, put demoman in his place with some needed nerfs, gave the pyro some huge buffs (loving the phlog buff so far, tears everwhere) and it made spy useful with that 0.5 delay on buildings. So I'm happy with it.
I'm reading the notes on it, holy shit why did nobody tell me about some of these changes. I might even start playing again.
>Pyros get 20 health if they extinguish someone
>all Flamethrowers buffed in range and other things
>Medics heal faster when healing others
>sapped Sentries take longer to get back online after the sapper is removed
So is there any gaming reason NOT to upgrade to Windows 10?
some hardware doesnt have win10 drivers so just do your research before you do it
>>323344042
Current Windows 10 here
It's not horrible, but I like 7 better
Any porn games that require applocale or similar processes are a pain in the ass to get working properly
How come western rpg devs are so utterly incompetent when it comes to actual gameplay /v/? It's like they're unable to scale a game's difficulty curve to the PC's growth.
Almost every big wprg title in recent memory becomes stupid easy somewhere during mid-game progression due to unlocking a mundane power up that in theory shouldn't even be that strong yet it completely breaks the game because the enemies are usually a joke.
Examples include DA:I, where one of the classes unlocks a life steal and an attack that drains HP in exchange for huge damage. Using only these two attacks I was able to kill dragons that were 7 levels above me without any fear of dying.
Of course there's also the Witcher 3 which is so poorly designed that no matter what build you go you'll get something that breaks the game. Spin2win Igni spam, etc.
Compare this to Dragon's Dogma where the Strider/Assassin classes are able to unlock Instant Reset, a skill that lets you reset your character to neutral from almost any animation including recovery.
Sounds broken as hell, but because enemies are actually a threat in this game Instant Reset ends up another cool tool and doesn't turn the game into daycare.
i believe igni's problems were addressed in a patch
the reason it did like 3000 damage is because the burning tick did percentage of health rather than damage scaled with the initial burst
Why can't they just make a proper sequel origins
>>323343643
I love Dragon's Dogma, but using it for an argument of balance is laughable. You have to actively try to make that game difficult by throwing your fucking pawn off a cliff just to play solo.
