Miyazaki is done with Souls series now that he's in charge and not bound by the contract for 3 games with Bamco.
We are getting an open world RPG, though, I'm pretty sure that's what he wanted to do for a while now.

Is that one of the two games they're contracted to do with SCEJ, or is that another thing altogether?
Whether or not this is true there are a few choices you can make as always. You can :
a) buy the game and send a message to the producers that they will still get paid regardless of their choices and support practices you disagree with.
b) pirate the game and send the message that games aren't worth localizing because you're not going to pay for them anyway.(They have no reason to believe you'll buy the game after "testing" it)
c) Don't buy the game no matter what the majority of the gaming community chooses to do, and hope that enough people choose this option as to make an impact.
Do you care? Do you have hope that there are enough vocal people on your side that a change will occur? Are you okay with settling.

they are both fps. Ss1 was not even an rpg. For a shooter to be just a shooter with little to no depth like hl is barebones game design.

Why is this game constantly priced below $5? I've even seen it priced at $1.99 on the gamestop digital store.

Because it never really sold well in the first place. It's a JRPG aimed at a western audience. So it neither did well in Japan or the US.
6 years later and it shockingly still isn't selling well.
Because people are too lazy to figure out how to play it, either that or they'll give up at hell's gates and cry it's too hard. Honestly, it's one of the best jrpgs I have ever played. Easily worth the 10 dollars I spent on it.Emma best girl btw

Just download a ROM. First gen is pretty shit honestly. If it wasn't for the nostalgia I wouldn't be replaying it myself.

Hey, /v/, so I've finally decided to start playing some FE however I'm undecided as to whether I should start with Awakening or Fates. Help me choose?
I would say start with fates, the two games have next to nothing to do with each other or any other games in the FE series. Fates has a lot of gameplay improvements and has 3 different paths for the plot, where as awakening only has one (as do every other FE game)
The paths kinda let you feel like you are the MC and it helps with immersion, plus kamui a qt.
Awakening is still a great game but id play fates first, fates also has new difficulty options to make it easier on newbies.

Birthright is what you start with. Conquest is hard as shit actually. Don't go in expecting an impressive story, story is what fire emblem lacks. Great, fun gameplay though, and I like the characters too.

How do I get good? I've peaked to the point where I no longer get better by playing. The only people I ever beat in For Glory are the ones as bad as I am. Everybody else is a tourney player who FG's for the fun of it or someone who follows a favorite flowchart they got off of youtube. I can't short hop approach worth anything, can't utilize fast falls in any meaningful way, and my footstools need work too. I suck at teching, period. As a result I'm getting destroyed by tactics that should only EVER work on braindead, babby players, which means I'm probably one of them. I was just about done when I lost two stocks in a row to a resting Jigglypuff.
Advice/venting/salt thread. However, refrain from handing out advice if you play a Fire Emblem character. It doesn't quite mean as much when your it's your character that racks up wins for you.

Ignoring your order. Robin main here, first off fuck you Robin is hard. Second off you gotta practice SHFF aerials in training, learn how to play quickly. Tell me what character you play and I can give you specialized advice.

Get better setups/safejumps if you're so okizeme oriented. They exist, but by SFV's very nature okizeme isn't all that strong. Do you even realize how few of your knockdowns are hard?
