MGS games are proper stealth games with good gameplay that just happen to have long ass cutscenes. If you don't give a fuck about the story you can skip the cutscenes and carry on.
Other movie games are primarily focused on telling the story through gameplay, meaning you're stuck with boring unskipable in-game segments where all you do is walk in a straight line while characters talk, or run in a straight line while the scenery explodes.

No Man's Sky thread? Maybe I've just been missing it but I rarely ever see anything about this game on here. Personally I've never been more excited for a game to come out than I am for NMS. The vibrant colors, the literally billions of planets to explore at will (if you haven't heard look it up, no joke there's literally billions of planets and you can go to all of them)...it's the perfect "get super high and get chouchlocked playing for hours" game.

Even with a considerably smaller budget, it probably surpasses Destiny in every way..

Started playing pic related for the first time in like a decade so everything is basically brand new
Currently level 11 and holy crap it takes forever to kill ANYTHING.
Major combat skills are Marksman and Blade and major attributes are Strength, Agility, and Speed.
Takes 20+ hits with a claymore and considering the bow does the same amount of damage as the claymore, using a bow takes FOREVER. Even on starting level bandits.
Difficulty Slider (wtf) is on the default setting, aka the middle. Lowering the difficulty makes the combat feel more natural but then the enemies can't hardly hurt me and the game isn't even fun/challenging then.
Is combat always like this in Oblivion or does it get better with higher levels and higher tiers of equipment?
Or do I just need to git gud?

No it really is that bad.
Don't get me wrong I adore Oblivion, and played it recently myself for the first time in many years. Had a lot of fun, got really into the character, but then level 10 - 15, shit just got dumb.
Enemies have too much health, fighting them is boring, and with me RPing somewhat my character just devolved into summoning a Daedroth and running away every fight.
Oblivion needs a re-balancing mod to be playable in the long term. I don't know what the best mod is.

Anyone else looking forward to this? I think it has some potential. With Harada having worked on it, I think it can flourish easier as a competitive game since the developer actually ENCOURAGES competitive play, unlike Sakurai, who actively called its competitive players "maniacs". Also, Harada seemed to do the whole "can be played by newbies and pros" without fucking either players.
I just hope they do actually add 4 more Pokemon in the future.
