No, I don't think they could ever live up to the hype.
Valve is also providing the best digital distribution service. I'm comfortable with HL3 never being released now, like other people have said it can't live up to the hype and I don't know if bit needs to exist anyway.

It wasn't special, but good. I enjoyed the secret worlds and bosses.
They're top notch IMO. I get where people are coming from when they criticize the aesthetic but the gameplay is so perfect.

Metal Gear is fucking trash

Splinter is a actual stealth game, but still has moments of humor and jokes.
Of course after conviction the stealth is getting worse and worse, I will not be surprised if blacklist 2 is a pure fps game.
Metal gear solid has stealth, but is much more forgiving, you dont have lambert calling you a fuckup faggot if you get caught.
