"Users are able to go to the very end goal without revealing why Link woke up the way he did and where he did. Whether you want to reveal the storyline and find out why Link woke up, or you want to just go straight to the goal, that's an option totally up to the user."
When asked, Aonuma confirmed that a player could go directly to the final boss of the game from its opening moments if they wanted. However, he also stressed that he didn't view this as an ideal way to play.
"Anybody who can go straight to the goal without doing anything else — there's two possibilities," Aonuma said. "Either they're a really good gamer, or they could be somebody that's a little bit crazy. But it's not impossible. I created the game like that.

None of the awkward audience clapping, loud pleb music and cringe-worthy business suits trying to create hype based on false promises.
Just pure unadulterated gameplay shown by passionate developers and hot babes.
Although there was a lack of variety Pokemon Sun/Moon and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild managed to make up for it through sheer excellence.
The latter especially feels like a true "game" in a market that thrives upon hand-holding of the player, bullshit "cinematic" trailers and SJW pandering.
All this is coming from a jelly PS4 player who hopes that the industry is influenced by this upcoming masterpiece due to its magnificent scope.

Probably much more like Metroid Prime 1 or Dark Souls tier than that pretentious shit. Aonuma has already made it clear that there IS a story, there is a reason for Link's weird waking up sequence, and there are plentiful NPCs in the town areas (not seen in the E3 demo). They're just all entirely optional, you can experience as much or as little of the story as you like.
