Was there any point to this demo beyond showcasing the combat being fucking awful and the game not worth buying?

I get the feeling that after all this time, they don't really know what they're doing with the game and they're just throwing stuff out there and hoping that it works. Like they never figured out how to translate the basic combat and movement concepts into good gameplay and they're just making content without real direction. That's the only explanation I can think of for why everything changes from build to build, why they keep soliciting feedback and making major system changes, and why it still isn't any fun to play.

Lots of Smash events going on today.
Low Tier City 4 has sm4sh/melee/PM, with Mang0, Hungrybox, Wizzy, Wobbles, Zer0, ESAM, Nairo, MrLz, Lunchables, Thunderzreign, etc.
Dreamhack top 8 on right now for Melee, with Leffen/Ice/Prof Pro/Android/Fuzzyness etc (armada was sick and couldn't enter).
Apex has Melee/Smash 4/Smash 64 with Mew2king, The Moon, DaBuz, Void, DJ Nintendo, Marss, SuperGirlKels, Nietono, etc. Umeki was eliminated at 9th.

People are playing it, but on the other hand people were playing FO4 too, saying it was good even. I haven't gotten around to touch OW but from what I've seen it looks dumbed down and plain, like I'd rather play some other shooter if I was up for FPS. Also things like the abysmal FOV seem jarring.

On PS4 I didn't get a legendary until level 18 with pic related. Eventually I saved up enough to buy Mercy's redhead viking skin.
On PC it's pretty unfair, I'm level 9 and have unlocked 3 legendary skins.

So earlier someone was talking about teams. I really don't have a good one. My character was convicted of being a thief. So, my partner is a mage so he just shoots hadouken balls. I got Bato he's not that strong high in labor skills and then I rescued that team in the forest which I forgot his name.. He's the Orc looking dude high in dodge ability.
