Because the cool neorednoir futuristic Gotham background, the flying vehicles, etc. with a techno soundtrack like the from Blade 1, it could have been a smash hit, I imagine it with more aggressive gameplay and superfast gliding with his small bat wings

He had a good rouges gallery. Shriek, Inque, Curare, Royale Flush Gang, Spellbinder, Starro andMad Stan. Him not having an archnemesis I think was a good thing and doesn't fuck things up when you wanna world build, which fucked up arkham city IMO
Bruce dying would be a good overall plot arch and a good send off for Conroy.

How did this game managed to gain such a long lifespan? What did it honestly succeed where many others did not?
I dunno man, played it once in September, got the true ending, never played it again.
I think that's kinda the point of the game.

Final Fantasy 1-3 were pretty open for its time. Then they started focusing on narrative with 4.
Open world is fine, unless it's a shitty Ubisoft style open world game which has you looking for hidden gems or crafting materials or doing fetch quests (e.g. Far Cry, Assassins Creed, Dying Light, etc)
Dragon's Dogma.
Not ruined, really. But I would have preferred if they made the whole game just dungeons. Everfall and BBI were the best parts of the game, but you spend most of the time running around in a huge, empty open world.

What I took away as I was making this list was just how many exclusives we lost to PC.

Snipers exist to take out high value targets like:
Officers
Spotters
Machine gunners
Enemy snipers
In addition to demoralizing the enemy.
Overwatch, etc.

I can't tell you how many times I have saved objectives from the enemy team by picking them off the flag before they could capture it.
They're only useless in certain modes, even then run and gun snipers could mop the floor with a team provided they're good enough.
