I've never seen a thread about pic related. What do anons think of this game? I personally have really enjoyed it, but i haven't quite finished it yet.

There is nothing wrong with Glory Kills.
Glory Kills resemble something I wanted in the classic Doom games, the ability to actually rip and tear through my enemies. The popularity of Brutal Doom is evidence that many players feel the same way. Punching a demon's head off of it's fucking shoulders or smashing a Revenant's head between it's shoulder-mounted cannons is cathartic as hell. It's no more repetitive than simply shooting everything.
I love the new Doom and you can take your "Glory Kills ruin the game" meme and suck butter from my ass.

He does not speak because he knows that no one will understand him. As players, we can understand Vega, Samuel, and Olivia, but Doomguy has no idea what anyone is saying.

Alright a/v/id gamers, I want you to tell me why this game isn't shit, and why people rank it so highly, putting it beside CT and FF6. I'll start by saying how it's shit. Disprove me.

>only character arc in the entire game is with Dyluck (girl's boyfriend)

>Cumbersome menus
>Combat starts off strong, but gets worse as the game progresses. You can either wait ten years to attack once or chaincast bosses to death

>Game tries to make you care about the Sprite at the end, even though it is literally a cardboard cutout

Like 50% of the time, choosing a stage on the Stage Select screen would go to a black loading screen and then instantly freeze my entire system, forcing me to do a hard-reboot of the Wii U.

It got an untold millions in Publisher money too. The game was going to be made regardless of how much it raised on Kickstarter. The final budget is probably around 10 million.

Ports still count towards budget. And I don't think it's a 900,000 dollar game at all. Look at the Stretch Goals. They include tons of basic shit like Intro Stage. They lowballed the main kickstarter to ensure it got funded, but hoped for millions.
