The top design is fine. Assuming the support beam is bolted to both the ground and the wall securely, it will still hold the wall up. The only difference is that you get tension forces on the beam instead of compression.
Effectively, the top one "pulls" the wall against the zombies, and the bottom one "pushes" the wall against the zombies.

Anyone have a hard gut feeling that this movie is just going to be incredibly bland? I don't think it's going to be outright bad like the prequels. Tbh I think it's going to be as good as the new star trek movies. I kind of liked them but they are pretty unmemorable and irrelevant in retrospect. I only like the star wars prequels because of how bad they all were. I actually hated them but I've gotten immense enjoyment from the sheer amount of shit talking material it gave me to work with. The only thing that even comes close is the airplane scene in batman, and that's just a ten minute scene.
It's a JJ Abrams movie which pretty much means it will be completely forgetable.
