I like his early films and Irreversible, but since Enter the void, i feel like he became a one trick pony.
He is very special though in filming events as if he was right in the corner of the room. When something feels wrong, he wants you to physically experience it, more than intellectually.
So in that way, he is a great filmmaker. But it doesn't mean that i like it always.
He could make a great horror movie, but it's probably not arty enough for him.

Not even a pleb by this board's standards, but goddamn if this wasn't one of the best movies I've ever seen, at least in the theater. There are a few plotholes, some of the pacing could have been improved, but it was such an experience seeing it in theaters that I'll never forget it.
