I kind of thought this might happen because some of Feig's last few movies have all been pretty well received by critics. But still, it seemed impossible for this movie to be good just looking at the concept of it and seeing the trailers. Almost everyone wants to hate this movie. I didn't think it could get more than a 60% at the absolute maximum, but somehow it has a 77% positive (6.6 / 10)
I mean I still don't want to go see it, but I'm only a little surprised at its higher-than-expected rating

No. I think his whole shtick is getting more stale with each film he releases, and he needs to show he can do something different before he turns into a joke. "Drive" gave him the biggest boost of his career, because he applied his own style to another person's story/script. "Bronson" was his best film, because he was telling a real person's story, and he was forced to get creative within the constraints of a very low budget.
He just goes too far up his own ass with his own original scripts. He's too talented to make a completely worthless movie, but in my opinion he's basically wanking his career away on these half-baked perfume commercial masturbation fantasies of his

Throughout all this Ghostbusters remake hullabaloo, where was the hate train for the remakes of Robocop and Total Recall?
I felt like I was the only one that was truly livid that two classic Verhoeven movies were being tainted with boorishly CGI driven imitators, and still haven't seen either out of protest.
Yet, people were okay with Total Recall (despite the charisma vacuum that is Colin Farrell) and people even LIKED the new Robocop despite it lacking any good satire (A parody of Fox News and Bill O'Reilly? Oh my god this has never been done before!) and a fun but at the same time, plausibly gritty looking future (ED-209's in Iraq lmao)
So truly, why does the new Ghostbusters get the hate? Why the backlash against reboots now?

I was at a restaurant with my wife a few weeks ago.
My wife went to the bathroom and told me when she got back, that when she walked in a woman was taking the loudest piss she ever heard, like someone running a bath with both taps turned on fully. My wife peed, washed her hands and was fixing her hair and lipstick when the woman finally stopped, my wife waited around to see the monster that had unleashed that torrent in the cubicle next to her (who at this point was still going), expecting some giant hamplanet, imagine my wife's surprise when the piss finally stopped and out walked Daisy Ridley.
My wife said she was already going when she walked in and went for at least a further two minutes, her flowing only slowing in the last 10 seconds or so.

He was legitimately an awful character, but just one of many missteps of the flick

He is a great villain.
Eisenberg was cast because he's the antithesis of Superman. He lacks physicality and relies on wits.
A lot of complaints stem from the fact that he doesn't resemble the Luthor in the comics, but fail to realize that this modernized version of Lex represents the modern billionaire millenial. He's a whiny cynical Mark Zuckerberg-type who feels he's above the the laws of man. His subtle facial expressions convey that there's a thin line between genius and madness. His performance is way more nuanced than many people give him credit for, and describing it simply as 'cringy' is a disservice, in my opinion.

It's alright.
Great performances by the main cast, especially macfadyen.
However it does get really boring midway through season 1 and never really comes back out.
Also, you should no that there is no ripper or ripping EVER.
It's just random police cases, some really fucking dull.
And this guy should have been a regular, perhaps even main antagonist but he never shows up again as far as I'm aware.
What went wrong?
